Random pic thread.

I feel like the cost to buy one straight from the distillery was much less, but you also have to wait a few years on it.

I committed to a barrel from Makers Mark 3 years ago through their ambassador program...cost me $8k...and I have another 4 years to wait...but I was also able to select the flavor staves I wanted during aging. If Ron's math is correct...should last me 8-10 years.

Got a sweet deal on an old piece of iron. Got a little rust, not terrible for a snow truck. Has a home made cross member up front for a plow. '72 F250HD 360 4speed

So, at Costco, you can buy the whole barrel. Perfect for that 4th party!

Cheaper to go to JD and buy it there. You can even do a tasting to see which tastes the best to you. And you get your name on the wall.

And on the barrel.

Googled it and a bazillion links appear saying BMI is bogus, misleading, inaccurate, a poor measure of health, etc...

Body fat percentage is a better measure.

As if they couldn't get worse.....new units of the townhouses near me had a budget cut. Instead of some brick all the way along the sidewalls, they are now doing the first few feet, then all vinyl.

1st pic, first unit built.

2nd pic, unit being wrapped up.

They're both super ugly. Breaking that visual line of the brick by recessing windows below that line is just stupid. They even put a wide sill on them, which draws even more attention to offsetting that line for no reason. I know no one cares or knows better, which is why they do it. If no one bought them, no one would build them.
That white strip of trim around the brick too. Ugh. Draws even more attention to that awkward piece of orphaned brick. Let's side the house in the ugliest 1990s beige vinyl and then accent it with white vinyl trim to match the white vinyl windows and the white vinyl soffit and the white 1970s gutters. And the white dryer vent dead in the middle of that huge blank expanse of beige wall.
Where's that jug of gas when you need it...?

Just country boys getting stuff done. Big ole barnage from recycled metal buildings. Not responsible for the bulk of it but happy to help em finish. Been mostly 1 man army with a helper every now and then.

Came up this way to fish but ended up stretching out the 150 on a few trails.View attachment 249919
Went fishing east of Mt.Olive in a tributary of the N.E.Capefear yesterday and tore their asses up. Caught a mix of robins, blue gills, and war mouth perch.
