The math is simple for the most part. The inboard pivot (the end of the link that isn't on the axle housing) is just a point of rotation, and the link is just a lever, and it's just a motion ratio with the different distances.

The forces and torques are summed about that pivot, and torque is just Force X Distance, so it's all just forces and distances. So any force at the axle housing is going to be twice as large at the spring/damper because the distance is half as much (estimating from the picture).

And because that link is rotating, it also means that anything velocity-related or travel-related is scaled by that distance as well. So the spring compression is half as much, and the damper travel is half as much, and the damper shaft velocity is half as much. But you then you also need a very different force vs. velocity response from the damper, with a different damper stroke, and a different spring rate, and different spring length.

All of those things are easy to calculate though, because all of those things just scale with distance from whatever parameters they would be if they were mounted on/near the axle housing.

Yes sir. Father n law has had (what we assume to be) stomach flu since tues. Mother n law has nursed him for 2 days and had no sleep. They're in their 70s and she can't handle his 6ft 8 skinny ass. So I ran down to take them BOTH to the ER at 9:45
