Random pic thread.

Just ran across this picture....combines Science of Metals AND truss building...
 no delta, nor recovery rate, and not black...so MINUS 500 points
We can laugh at the safety idiocy here but there's some serious tech involved in FTC, way more than you'd get in any typical school program.
I will agree, however.....without skilled trades being taught as well, we will be/are in trouble

That scares me, only 20 gauge interior dw studs for a truss? Obviously not engineered.
At least use structural studs [emoji849]

Buddy laid his truck over yesterday....got airlifted, but I hear the worst of it was that he lost his glasses. Gonna be sore.

Brand new truck. Pic after they righted it. 10 yards on it at the time.

Oh man that sucks. I'd be devastated to lose my glasses. Hopefully he has a backup pair! What happened to cause him to roll it?

I'd guess his speed delta was too fast for the curve delta. (see what I did there?)

It was on an exit ramp (the Burns Drive exit off US-1 just north of Sanford).

Wow, That one Hurts! I spent 10 years driving at Concrete Supply, 76-86. Can't recall any turn overs or dump on side. But there were a few Saves! Might have been because i was still a rookie, but I got too scared tilted on a hill, & called for help. Supervisor came out & had another truck hook his cable to me, side to side, up near the top of the drum, & then we both Eased down the hill. Beat taking a chance!

Glad he was ok! Early in my FD career we had a cement truck turn over, driver ran a stop sign trying to make a left turn and laid it over on its right side. He wasn't wearing a seat belt and as the truck laid over he fell toward the passenger side and ended up with his arm out the window and pinned between the cab and the ground.

Drove by that yesterday when they were cleaning up. His truck was still there hooked up to the back of a wrecker. Glad he's ok.
