Woodstove is in the basement. Main floor heat is set on 66, but it is a nice and cozy 70 degrees :D

The wife and I were traveling last week ..... had a mini-emergency and decided to make a quick stop at a Dolla Gentral to solve the problem ......

Me: Hey Siri where is the nearest Dolla Gentral?
Ghetto Siri: There are 256 Doola Gentrals in a 10 mile radius of your current location.

I’ve been wanting a wood stove to put on my screened in porch.
The old couple we bought our house from installed a gas insert that we were recommended not to remove from a third party chimney sweep.
I miss having a REAL fire.

I'm really torn about whether I should put an insert in my fireplace. I love watching the fire but getting little to no usable heat off of it is a real bummer. Ideally I'd get one with glass doors but I haven't found one I like yet.

I’m sure there’s a more “professional” way to do this.

Yep. The professionals dont cut it that close. Just clip the corners at 45 and let the trim plate cover it. Keep moving and do more in less time. Get paid, move on.

Me, I'd cut to fit also. Not too tight.

Have you seen heater tubes in action?
