Of course they want you to buy the JK specific tank. 05-06 have the same fuel pump mounting and EVAP connections. You literally just have to extend the wiring to ply in a JK or 05/06 TJ/LJ fuel pump. When I was stationed in Cali I caught flak from a dude from Gen right for doing a TJ tank swap Bc I didn't use their parts. Tony is a good dude but some of his customer service guys can be dicks and really push their parts. The TJ/LJ tanks do fit if you're willing to rework some of the brackets. If you own a welder it's not hard. Hell im using a Kelby skid plate on my TJ tank swap that I just modified the front mounting flange and the spring crossmember above the rear axle. You're getting info from someone who has already done the TJ tank swap. I know you're not running a 60 out back but that's supposed to represent a 1 ton axle is what I was getting at. Jeep speed shop also did a build using a 05-06 TJ tank and factory EVAP lines. They did 6"
Front stretch and a 2" rear stretch with a factory tank and their own skid.
I've already talked to 2 different shops that do TJ tanks into JKs and said that they won't work with a 8" stretch and barely works with a 6". And I'm not going to connect the EVAP stuff, I already know a way to help keep the dash happy without it lol.
