RIP Remington! Thank you all!!

As of right now the gentamicin and clendamicin (think they are called) isn’t working like we hoped with the two infections, on top of the skin disease that we can’t even begin to treat bc the infection is still so bad on his face and parts of his body. What’s crazy and puzzling everyone is all his organs are still good tho he has urinalysis daily for kidney issues from powerful meds and no problems, were basically out of options honestly dermatologist at tech wants to see him next week but fri we were suppose to make a decision on putting him down depending on his health and he’s not coming along as ast as vets would like!
He has been in the hospital for almost a week tom on IV and injected meds hopefully he can keep fighting but the new bill is over 2k not including what tech dermatologist will be charging if we can even get him there!? I may have a lot of stuff for sale on the cheap soon after we get this straightened out next week, I’ll post everything in this thread so anyone that’s been in here can get first dibs!
I go see him on my lunch breaks and after work haven’t been able to this week until today ole lady was all to hell yesterday when she left bc he wouldn’t stand but when I went in today he started wagging tail and stood for 42 mins wanting me to pet him, and the oozing in his face is slowly drying up so hopefully my sanity and finances can keep up if he’s ready to rock I’ll roll I reckon hopefully my decision with the new job pays off sooner than later! This couldn’t have hit at worst time truly, but we don’t get to decide when we’re tested so to speak... thank you all that’s donated shared and kept up it means a lot and owe a lot of y’all many cold beers hopefully sooner than later! If on face book please share our gofundme we’ve had numerous vets try and help from fb shares and a buddy in Brazil sent me papers from a vet down there in Portuguese and I had to ask him to translate it lol but it was something our vet hadn’t considered and she called later this afternoon saying they were testing for that on the house bc they were curious about if it didn’t show in biopsy!?? I’ll keep it updated my woman’s amazing she’s somewhat taken control bc just me working I can’t be on calls and in office she’s doing all this with a 4 month old mini King Kong somehow!!!

Stay strong for Remi, you and the family!!!!!

You are a good man for what you have done for your furry friend so far. Dont give up!!!
Yeah I don’t quit, not in my DNA... Damn bad news tho, just got a call from vet and seems tech said they can’t see us until Thur next week he suggested a diff med to the vet tho we’re starting today and now I was just informed they giving us til sat and have to make a decision... smdh

Good lord works in mysterious ways... soon as I posted last update before lunch our vet must have done some magic or had a had a warmed heart seeing a 6’4” 220 lb man breakdown over the situation were in regardless, we get to take him to tech at 9am tom morning and somehow not have to pay $1500 for emergency bc that wasn’t a option at this stage! Few hundred more bucks but it may be just the specialist we need to see him in person this guy is board certified in rare skin diseases and infections so praying hard!! @kaiser715 thank you brother for your generosity and everyone else I can’t thank you all enough!! This forum as a whole have made me look at people in a diff light!!

PayPal inbound. Hopefully the doctors and staff find a treatment ASAP. Praying for a speedy recovery for Remi.
Thank you so much buddy means the world to our family!!

Somehow I am late to see this. Help sent!

We’ve recently had a few people say we should have already put him down and from the outside looking in at his face and condition I can see why that would be first thought, but up until 7 days ago he was walking eating and just lame! this dogs organs and everything is perfect so like I said when he taps out he’ll come home and we’ll tap out until then I can’t give up one damn diff med could change the game! Super infections are not a joke this is some scarey stuff thank god it’s rare cases it occurs and still to my knowledge we do not know what triggered any of this! Dermatitis is one of the biopsy results but would never be this sever without a trigger from my research none of it adds up Im praying dermatologist can give some answers, they don’t take care credit for pets at VT which is bs, so not sure if we can have the extra labs they wanted to do done there or if our vet can do it cheaper have to discuss that tom when they give us estimate before we can take him in the facility... mind boggling how some damn people sleep at night! Will update tom as soon as possible thank you all so much keep the prayers coming this pups gonna need em!

Somehow I am late to see this. Help sent!
Thank you!! I wasn’t sure who matt was until I got back on here, ole lady said I don’t know any of the people that have donated one from Florida one she couldnt find on fb so replied via gofundme! Greatly appreciated man!

I know I say this every night, but again, stay strong for Remi and your family!!
You all are in my thoughts, and I really hope for a full recovery......

Well everyone it saddens me more than I can explain that Remington is not longer with us... R.I.P. my friend I’ll miss your craziness and endless ball drops at my feet the talking to me with your strange howls and growls I’m sorry we couldn’t do more in the earlier stages of all this!

As I picked him up for trip to the tech dermatologist, the vets said he was vocal and I’d not heard him bark or “speak” in 14 days so I was excited the meds had started helping when I got him in my burb I quickly realized these weren’t barks and him speaking like to me like he normally he did these were cries of pain and I was a mess at that point bc they weren’t allowed to give him meds the night before so he was in fact suffering in my mind. Got to the VT clinic the quickly quarantined him and us and it was obvious something had been happening since we started diff meds after the biopsy and culture unfortunately it was to late and necro had set in to him muscles and blood stream after a extremely quick 20 min lab work the specialist came back in and his face told me what I already knew! The infection turned into necro from my understanding bc of to many diff introductions to medicines! His body couldn’t keep up! I then decided to allow VT to do a study to find the leading cause to why all of this started and they accepted to pay for that to teach and hopefully allow the next animal to not have to go through this or the financial burdens this has put on our family!! Please know everyone’s help is greatly appreciated and I deeply from bottom of my heart thank you all and are in your debt forever! We did all we could do, I wish I would have taken him to VT and just paid the first few thousands there he may still be here possible no way to tell yet! Thank you all so much he is being cremated after the study And brought home! I wish I had good news but after $6000 and donations plus 3k remaining balance money couldn’t help to save him we all did what we thought we needed to do! I’m just thinking god must have needed a damn good herding dog is all I can figure!! Thank you all and I’m greatly touched by generosity and selflessness of everyone!! Prayers for the family we still have a hell of a time to go, it’s hit us hard in many more ways then expecting! Thank you all again

You helped him put up a good fight. You loved him, and did the most loving thing a pet owner can do for a suffering animal. Thank you for not giving up until it was truly his time.

For Remi:

Rip remi

Just read this for the first time. Some $$ on the way soon. I may have missed it, what kind of dog is he? Sure looks like part heeler but remember seeing 78 lbs and wouldn't think they could get that big. I have a heeler and he is about 50 lbs (which I thought was big).

***Edit
@C.Berry your PayPal didn't seem to work, said it had been deactivated. Do you have another PayPal?

Damn Chris..I don’t know what to say. This sucks. I’m so sorry for you & your family. You did everything you could. I could swear that when I watched the video @kaiser715 posted, my wife must have been chopping onions. RIP Remington.
