yeah, those bypass trails are tough!I'm over here barely doing anything but loading up and hitting the trails. I guess that's the 4.0 for you.....

My son wants to put the OM606 out of his wrecked 99 in the MJ behind my shop. With Dieselpuk goodies of course.@Jody Treadway
Sounds like injector refresh time when you change the hoses every couple of years. Should be sufficient!
Or....4BT swap? Oooh, better yet, a Benz OM606. The 2JZ of the diesel world. I know you like the skinny pedal!
M57 is a great candidate as well.Oooh, better yet, a Benz OM606. The 2JZ of the diesel world. I know you like the skinny pedal!
Some of those "bypass" trails are almost as hard as the real ones at Gulches....yeah, those bypass trails are tough!
I had the blue "fuel" hose go bad in just 5 years. It didn't look bad until I touched it and then it slowly leaked 7 gallons of gas on the attached garage floor. The wife still gives me shit over that and now I have a giant unsealed spot on my floor.True. I do swap my hoses every couple of years to be safe. If you buy it in bulk and use the same size on everything, it's not too costly at all.
Yes sir. That was me!@Jody Treadway badass Ford! It looks very familiar, did we wheel together at Windrock last year? I was in a blue U4 buggy and led a group up trail 16 which turned into a 10hr adventure
Shipped the converter back to PTC for the complimentary rebuild/refresh.Soooo....

My rear uppers always kinda scared me. They're 3/4" x 7/8" heims with 1.5" x .250" toob, but still had a gut feeling one may fail.
Luckily, they never did, just wore out rapidly and caused a ton of noise.
Today was a long ass day in the shop. Replaced the old rear uppers with 1.25" heims and 1.75 x .120 DOM. Went with all RH thread so I won't have to deal with jam nuts loosening up.
Removing the old frame mounts was an absolute chore. I made them so they wouldn't fail or ever come loose. Took about 3 hours to get them off and the welds ground away. Did some horse trading with @Pless and ended up with all that I needed to replace frame and axle side mounts, tube and heims. All turned out great. Had to re-route the exhaust (again) so I'll need to finish welding it up next weekend.
So glad I don’t hear those clanking rear rear trailing arms anymore….. geesh! It was such a clapped POS at the G2G lol.
You'll appreciate this video then! Ain't no clankin' no moSo glad I don’t hear those clanking rear rear trailing arms anymore….. geesh! It was such a clapped POS at the G2G lol.
