Luckily for everyone, he was a terrible shot. Only thing he managed to hit was himself.
 
It's outragous that the guard didnt have a gun..at first anyway. The chairperson even said''He probably dont have a gun''.
Lucky noone was killed(except the bad guy), but thats not for the lack of trying.
All Im saying is ''no guns on premisis or CAMPUS'' is a stupid way of guvment doing stupid things. Things that cause a would be defender to become defensless AND dead.

I'll be the first to say it.

I've been to a few school board and community meetings where I really wanted to shoot somebody.

...but actually doing it is another thing!

Rules only apply to those who actually follow them, they don't deter someone who doesn't care. But I'd be willing to bet, that guy's balls wouldn't have been hanging as low had he known there was the potential for return fire.
 
The best was the lady that tried to hit him with her purse....now she has some balls....or no brains

IMHO he said that to diffuse the trauma for the other people in the room at the moment. Trying to keep them from going into shock.

I would have said the same thing honestly. Just to try and keep some of the other people from totally breaking down.

The guy DID kill himself after he was shot...so you know he wasn't shooting blanks.

I read one report that said the guy went in there and got all postal because his wife was fired.....then it was discovered today that she actually quit and didn't tell him. But that's not been confirmed.

Wouldn't THAT suck!

Yeah, I saw that, and she's a dumbass. "He's got military training, he KNOWS how to shoot a gun" Oh really? one handed, both eyes open? Funny, that was never how we were taught.
"He wasn't actually trying to hit anyone" - Really, because after he's shot, he fired off what.. 2 or 3 more rounds in a desperate attempt to hit someone before he goes down.

He missed, plain and simple. And it's rather obvious he was nervous, as the accidental discharge after the first shot shows.

Armchair QB'ing aside, I'm glad none of the innocents were hurt, but they're damn lucky. Speaking of lucky, I hope the guard who shot him moved off to his side as not to hit any of the school board members while getting his sight picture!
 
he was trying to kill someone...the first shot blew the papers off the desk. Wow...I just now heard about this. One more reason why I feel there should be a trained gun in school.
 
A security officer with actual firearm training. That's what I take from it?
