selling your rig? not here unless you're popular...

I think I have been wheeling wrong for all these years.Maybe I need guidance to make my 4wheelin more enjoyable. OP,I have a 60 horse flathead in a Willys M38. I twisted my rear driveshaft in two and busted the front spiders one time trying to get up on the first ledge on Daniel. Obviously my engine has way too much horsepower for my axles.I have a dana 25 in the front and a flanged offset dana 44 in the rear.Both are geared 5.38. Would a doubler help me out? Mind you this was while turning 31/10.50s.
 
^^^Your problem isn't your junk...it's where you wheel. Bounce it over a curb and get the tires in some grass and that thing will be in it's element. My buddy has a half mile gravel driveway if you want to get crazy. And yes, a doubler will help.

If you really did believe your Jeep was sooo strong, then doing the grudge match would, in fact, be a way to bring in CASH. You pull for PINKS. Take the winnings, sell it and get what you need done.
That's how all the real racers operate - the car is a source of revenue.

Jeepster you said you hope you get your finances in order and don't have to sell the jeep, I don't think you have to worry about getting rid of it...
 
Hold the presses all crap talking can stop he changed his for sale thread now it says with a little work to the axles it could be a crawler and he lowered the price to $4800 I believe we have made an impact

I come on here at end of day and get a kick out of what you guys say. Talk all you want about gravel roads and such. Thank you to Snappy for being a true Jeepster/Wheeler for your advise. I'm gonna pick up some of those joints tomorrow and hope to get pump working enough to go back to that area and try again with a video to try and show something in action while waiting for sale or other things to fall in.
 
Yall might get your wish folks: Guy offered $$ for my rims and tires so IF tires sell Saturday, the whole Jeeps getting sold in pieces. not much of a jeep without those tires.
 
any offers on Doubler, new motor/radiator/starter/dual batteries/8.25rear/ any offers on whole Jeep as it will be with no tires

hey are you illiterate??go read all 12 pages....nowhere did I ever say how "well" built my jeep is. I said it's capable, its got new motor and lots of other new parts, and some axle work could make a good rock crawler. and I'm the liar. IF any of you guys go read my original selling post, nowhere on there does it say I'm a XJ build pro and built it solid as a rock. I said capable and with some work could be very much more capable. I don't want to piss off moderators so can't discuss that here, sorry. if all goes as said earlier, Saturday all will be put up on here, (I guess) even though I fear for my life that people will give stupid low offers but I guess it'll be entertaining if anything
 
If I had 3 grand and shopping for an XJ I probably would buy it and part out the tires, doubler and other stuff I didn't like. Then put it back together with properly matched equipment and pocket the left over money.
