Drove down and back on Saturday, had a great time. Core along with Carolina Trailblazers hosted the event. We had coffee and donuts for those who needed a little something.
We had the normal SFWDA meeting, we had two reps from Southern. (I will let JC elaborate on what went on) and then we had the raffle, host by CORE. I won several cool items including more T-shirts, a Hi-Lift isolator, and some really cool roll bar insulated drink holders. Been wanting some of those but wouldn't part with the cash.
We all met after the meeting at the Outpost, and dived up into groups. I heard a faint distress call from a fellow CTBer and went to his aid. Seems he took a wrong turn and when he realized it, he turned around and POP, under the hood and smoke rolled. He got his son out, and then disconnected his battery. We hoped for an easy fix, but when we reconnected his battery, more smoke, so we got his tow rig and loaded his Jeep up. His day was finished. So, My son(yodakid) and I went looking for the rest of our group. We finally found them, or maybe they found us. I was under Josh's TJ adjusting his T case linkage so it would stay in Four Low. We got in line with the rest of our group, and headed down for a great hog dog or three from Terry. After that we headed up Rocky Mount. We fell into line behind a group of FSJ guys and waited on them to try Kodak Rock, break and get extracted. Once they were up and off to the side our large group took our turn. Everyone made it, taking varying lines, only carnage we had fro our group was a blown bead.
After that it was pretty much just riding through through the woods.
I did get the opportunity to let several four wheelers know that they needed to stay ON the trails, and that their actions are what gets out trails closed. One of the wheelers was having some issues, I could only offer a patch to try and help him get out of the woods.
Soon there after, we headed back and loaded up.
Was a long fun day.
For those who attended, thanks for coming down, for those who missed it, I hope you get the opportunity to come to the next SFWDA meeting and event.
