Snowpocalypse!

Ended up with around 2 inches of very granular sleet. Very disappointing. But my chili-beans were excellent. Got up to 24 degrees.

Snow returning to SW VA; we've got about 6 inches so far. Wood stove working and shoveling paths now and then. Supposed to get more ice too. Thought about testing the Ram's 4WD but did that last time..

Daughter was pumped for her first real snow. Boss man had to look out every window to announce it was snowing on that particular side of the house. Actual enjoyment in the snow lasted maybe 20 minutes until the gloves kept falling off and the feet were cold. The wind was pretty brutal though.

Me and @ramjo made a trip to check out my lumber yard and pulled a 2wd Ranger out of the ditch below his house on the way home.

Other than that it was just eating some homemade veggie soup and sitting by the fireplace and watching the occasional truck/ gang of atv snowboarders go by.

If all this rain was snow, I wouldn't be able to open my front door. It's also windy as hell.

That was my thought most of the day! Why couldn't all this rain have been snow?!?

Got about 3.5 inches or so in GQ; I wanted to go play but the truck was acting funny. Pretty sure the front diff is a little low on fluid so I'll have to get that addressed.
Also has anyone else heard there's supposed to be another round on Thursday/Friday?

Yes, Friday night into Saturday. I've seen some early model runs that look similar to how this storm looked a week out with a lot of snow across most of NC. We'll see how it pans out.

Somebody call Al Gore for me please.
He's got 8" of "global warming" to remove from my crib.
High temp here today was 27 degrees.
So i made @trailhugger's favorite potato soup recipe, started drinking Shiner Bock at noon.
Then put a Vortex red dot and 3x magnifier on my gf's AR 15.
Life in the fast lane ya know!

And a note to my friend, @XJsavage ,
self control is a learned behavior.
When you figure it out, please write a book to explain it to my dumbass.

Got the generator running yesterday. I thought the last time I ran it, I ran the gas out of it..... nope. Cleaned the carb 4 times, each time going progressively farther and finding more crap and crud. On the 4th time, hooked it back up and fired on the first pull like a champ. I will be very surprised if we don't lose power due to the ice. My work schedule starts at 2am or whenever the first flake falls so drink a beer or 3 for me...
I used to struggle with this then I bought a Century Tri-Fuel conversion kit for my generator and run it off 20# barbeque tanks. I retained the gas tank but that is the backup if I run out of propane. The thing starts every time even in the cold. I keep meaning to set up my natural gas lines at the house with a quick-connect to utilize the natural gas option but use the generator so infrequently that it is not really something I worry about.
