Thanks

Bobs steering ram let loose from the tie rod on clawhammer . He pulled out his welder and I winched the High steer into place and we were back in action for about 5 feet . The pitman arm let loose . We went back to camp and I could not resist taking my Duramax with 4 in. lift and 35 in mud terrain may pops up the trail part ways . I wish I had pics but we were on a mission and had no time . I think it was 0100 AM when we got into camp . It was a good start to a great trip .
A big THANKS to rick for letting me use his premier power welder not once but twice. I was able to repair the broken pitmann arm getting it red hot and I was amazed it held for the remainder of the trip. Full hydro steering is going on it as soon as Jeremy brings my truck home! ps. anybody know where I can get a BIG doubble ended ram cheap??

I see the "blew xx tires" on these types of threads all the time when folks head out west.

Just was wondering what the thoughts were on why? Overloaded tires / compared to the weight ratings...or air pressure gets too high (as tires warm up) or...?

Very jealous of the pictures...def on my lifetime "to do" list along with Moab and Rubicon.

I had the trailer riding a little high with alot of weight on the rear tires / lifted truck . I adjusted it after the second rear blew . The tires were old and we had a few spares so it was expected .

Bob , brodies are what californians call Donuts

Ah, I can see how that not having the weight even on all 4 would do that, had not considered that factor. (My trailer only large enough for one rig)

Thx for the comment back - I know when I do my 4-5k round trip mileage I want to have as few issues as possible. I am thinking I want to upgrade to a newer / low mileage diesel rig and tires on the trailer in really good shape, etc.
