If you follow my camper thread, you know the deal. If not, short story is my family outgrew my truck camper on a gooseneck. We decided to get a camper and a flat bed crew cab truck.
I networked up a deal and found one that was for sale but not listed for sale, those are usually good deals. So we agreed to a price and a time and the only thing between us was 500 miles. So I rented a car one way, scooped up @Chris_Keziah and we drove all night to be there in northwest Ohio, nearly Indiana by morning. It was an eventful drive back. We had electrical issues, we accidentally went to a bar in the middle of nowhere, we were several hours into the return trip when we realized I still had the rental car keys in my pocket. So we had to stop and overnight those back.
We were up for 38 hours straight and driving for over 20 of those. It was an epic trip to say the least. I slept for about 12 hours straight when we got back.
I can’t wait to start putting my own touches on this truck, and I’ll keep it updated here if for nothing but my own good.
2004 GMC Topkick 5500
LB7 Duramax/Allison 1000
Both only have 30k
Truck has 225k
It has a 14’ flat bed. I’m looking at having a headache built for it.
I’ll get some interior pics tomorrow. Before and after.
