The obligatory snow thread

Roanoke ended up with 24". I got the Commander stuck for the first time....in front of my house! I was pushing fresh snow up to my headlights coming down my street. I stopped to shovel the driveway before I pulled in and when I got in it an hour later to pull in, it was high centered in the snow LOL! It took a lot of shoveling but once it broke free it plowed more snow around the block until I got back to my driveway. The thing is a TANK!

This snow was the third deepest in recorded history for Roanoke. The town barely shut down as far as business goes. We are used to it. I worked my regular 6-4:30 shift today.

My trail rig on 35's and my 90 XJ, they are under there somewhere!

Pulled a fedex truck. Waiting on the video. Went sledding on UNCG campus with some cute ladies and went off some sweet jumps, I think they were impressed.

I'm sure it's never hard to find an old truck hood around your place!

Pulled the kid around the yard for a while. He loved it.

Pinto hoods are best for high speed and carving narly curves, put a twin matress on a 70's Ford truck hood and pile about 6 or more on for a free-for all or "who can stay on the longest" trip!!:rockon:.........bail out before hitting ditches or mailboxes if sledin on the road :eek:

Still no plow trucks in the neighborhood yet, primary roads are still completely white, interstates and highways are moving good and are in good shape. Still not slowing Roanokers down any. All you can hear outside right now is shovels and cursing LOL! I will heading out soon to help my neighbors shovel. Looking out my front window;

I got out some more yesterday afternoon. The secondary roads were still 1 1/2 lane, but plows were trying to catch up. Came back in by 6, roads better, but still wet, So--------.
Boss woke me up at 8 this morning, Contractor wants dump trucks, to haul snow from Mercy hospital. We'll start around 11.
I bet the Calender/Clock, of my camera, is a bit off!

Yeah! We are so lucky haha! I got the trail rig stuck fresh snow and a slight plow bank. Thought i could push through it since I WAS GOING DOWN HILL! Even with 35's, locked F/R and 6" lift it was high centered! I used the winch and pulled on a telephone pole and got it free after about 15' of pulling. My road is still not plowed but the driveway is shoveled.

Called the insurance company Wednesday and put insurance on the YJ for the first time in 3 years. Think I put around 90 miles on it driving all over in this. Really made me miss having it streetable. Today, went to leave the house in the Honda since all the roads were cleared but that didn't go so well. Finally got it out after a good bit of rocking.

And yet he gets all mad when we cut donuts in the field... :p

We just got our road plowed LOL! VDOT didn't do it either, it was my neighbor across the street and his son. They have 5 plow trucks, they brought the last three that were still running into the neighborhood and plowed. Even knocked the plugs out of the driveways and cleared the mailboxes. They have plowed for 80 hours straight, no sleep!

They started out on Wednesday with 5 trucks;
a 96 F-350 CCLB gasser, blew out a front axle shaft on Thursday
A brand new Chevy 2500 SCLB gasser with new boss plow, the plow quit raising up on Thursday morning. He had to drive it 25 miles with the plow down to the dealer to drop it off. VDOT got some free plowing from him in that deal.
Three 2010 Chevy 2500 SCLB gassers that made it through to the end!

Those trucks were beat to hell and back. Plowing is hell on a truck and 2' of snow makes it worse.
