The quest for 30 more danas

I would turn the steering to full stop and try to package it all there. That would give tightest clearance F&R of the axle. Also think about if you were to change wheels down the road, and went with a raceline or the sort. Would BS change causing everything to rub?

I’ll do that once the axle is back under the jeep. I’m going to weld the pads but just tack the bump stops in place until I get my shock and make sure everything is going to clear. Worst case I have to figure out how to move the bumps to another spot I’ve got an idea for a spot but it would end up being a ton of extra work

Finally got the front axle back in and everything tightened up. The front is sitting on the frame for these pictures, I’m thinking I will need 1/2 to 3/4” min higher. Belly height right now at full bump is 18”.

i have made 0 progress on this thing in the last month or so. over the next week or so i plan on putting the 300 back together and mounting the 203/300 to the turbo 250 and making a cross member. Then i can get the rear links finished up. after that i will be moving the crack shack to the back yard and put the jeep away for a while.

Currently been in a court battle for the last 6 months trying to get a lien from my uncle removed from my house so i can finish up the paper work to buying my house. Once that's taken care of i have to redo my driveway so the jeep will be in the way. after a couple projects at the house are finished up i will be back full force on the jeep to try and get it done before end of the year.
until then if i get the itch to wheel ive got the keys to the big orange shit box @McCracken loves so much...

Life sure gets in the way of all the fun cool shit doesn’t it?

Lol ya between the house and Miranda having some medical issues. It just got pushed to the side, once it’s a full roller it’s going out back for a couple months but hopefully after that I can finish it up pretty quick

yeah it sucks and between me and my dad we probably have 8-10000 in the fight so far with his brother, we could win against his sketchy lawyer about when he filed the title work for the house, but that would get my uncle out of the 65,000 dollar hole he drug himself into with not paying his bills with his business. dad doesn't want to help my uncle out in anyway after how everything has went down since my grandmother passed away (I'm buying her house). he also still owes my dad a large sum of money, and he is being investigated for fraud, and a couple other charges based on what he did after my grandmother passed and what the will said to do and what was done. it truly is a huge mess and has split the whole family. Dad and his brother where my grandmothers only children but she married my grandfather who had 5 kids from a previous marriage, they were included in the will and got none of it. and everyone has basically turned against my uncle due to his actions.

Pissed off at the Jeep throwing it in the back yard tomorrow till I figure out what I want to do and have some spare cash to throw at it. Rear lowers are 39” long giving me a 126” wheel base right now. reusing the lowers and uppers that are on the jeep it looks like my uppers are going to be longer than the lowers. Have a set of the inside the frame upper and lowers from Barnes that I planned on using but that would require me cutting out and possible losing my rear cross member and back most part of the belly skid which I don’t want to do. At this point I may cut the whole back half off and start from scratch.

On a side note these garages from harbor freight are pretty dang tuff.

Picture of it half way down to move tomorrow

Don’t give up BTL! Take a step back and figure out how you want it to end up. Sometimes cutting the old shit off and starting from scratch ends up being cheaper and quicker than making what’s there work for your needs.

Finding a passenger drop / ls full tube buggy chassis with links may end up be what I look.... idk yet just depends on how some things go

Tomorrow I'll tell you the same thing I did on page one.
Cut that gomme (sp?) off behind the passenger compartment. Set the rear axle to 1xx" WB. Then place the lowers where they fit appropriately and are nearly parallel. Have your imaginary friend hold the uppers in place and make mounts on the chassis.
Then finalize the tube work, wheel and do it all over again like we all do.
Taking a break is a part of it man. But develop a plan and stick to it
