The Upcoming Diesel Fuel Shortage...

I agree. I can’t for the life of me figure out how the guy made money. It was roughly $700 in fuel, went thru a broker so you know he made a little money. By the time you account for some overhead and wear & tear there doesn’t seem to be much left on the table. Unless he had a good run back that way, or that was his run back after hauling something down.
Depending on broker 15% is standard. Some more. A few will do 10%. Our rule is 15% min. Boss aka Dad prefers 20%.

Can't speak to a shortage, but prices seem to be going up. I filled up over the weekend in Asheboro for $4.89/gal & then yesterday in Lumberton it was $5.49/gal & Benson was $5.35/gal.

Dude showed up today in a gas box van to get the trans so I assume it wasnt LTL.He lives in the next county and said he was headed to Nashville TN,then DC and then on to Miami. He charged a lil over $300 to haul it.

No, the U.S. is not going to run out of diesel fuel in 25 daysNo, the U.S. is not going to run out of diesel fuel in 25 days
So the take I get here is we are not refining as much as we were in 2019 for x, x and x reasons. 1 million a day if I understood that correct. So what is our current refining capacity. Interesting they left that out. Also do not mention if any of these plants that were taken off line were about to come back up ether.

They also didnt mention the maritime diesel consumption, which has changed since 2019 and exacerbated everything.

Emergency management for buncombe county sent letters out to all municipalities 6 months ago about the coming shortages. They encouraged everyone to increase their storage capacity as much as possible. Won’t no garbage pick up be awesome! Of course having no groceries will help with that little problem.
Sadly it doesn't surprise me that this is the first I've heard about this, and I work in emergency services for the biggest municipality in the county.
