I think T-dog had to die to move the story along. Everyone knew #2 wasn't gonna last. But Tyreese is the real deal. Think he should stick around for a while, he's been leading a group for a while and looks like he knows how to handle himself. Glad he finally made his appearance.

Tyreese was the only important black guy in the comics. I assumed T-Dog was the TV replacement until he died. I think initially T-Dog was going to live much longer than he did, but I read that the show had some issues with budgeting and several of the main characters had to be written out.
