The Work Travel Thread

Busy times...very few people.
 
Well, I got an email today for a spot on a team to forward deploy to literally anywhere at any time to fix crash damaged aircraft. I have experience on 6 of their 9 listed aircraft, plus 5th Gen. So, looks like I'm about too see some sketchy places with no comms and possibly some firepower strapped on me. I'm down. PAY me!
 
So I needed to update some product training and was sent to Tampa for work. I have a trainee with me. We land yesterday with nothing to do till today. So naturally we wind up at some sports bar make poor decisions.

We then go over to Carrabbas for dinner and sit in the bar area, but not at the bar. We notice a smoking hot blonde and realize not only is she hot, she’s a midget. But like a really good looking midget. Her body was not oddly proportioned or anything, just small. My co worker is single and Im like “her boyfriend looks like a big douche bag you should go talk to her”

I go to the bathroom, come back out and he is over there chatting with her and some other folks! The boyfriend actually winds up being her husband, and announces that he’s covering everyone’s bill. The other couple opposes and says they had over $100 in drinks and he didn’t have to do that. Dude is like “bro I made $30k this month I got it”

So they are social media stars. They have hundreds of thousands of followers. So I get to talking to dude and I’m like “man that’s crazy, so just 250k followers on TikTok and other platforms pays that much?”

Then the truth comes out, most of the money comes from onlyfans. Said they’re also going jump on pornhub soon and do some collaborations with some other porn stars.

And since you for sure want to see her and nothing is any good without pics, here is a link to her IG. I don’t have TikTok or any of that other stuff like snap chat or whatever.

Yeah I started to type it all out, but I’m a little sick today, self induced, and have no energy. I’m barley getting thru this training. But the short version I found out which bars and restaurants you can and cannot carry your own 18 pack into.

There is some of that...but Tampa is pretty fuckin wild. Every trip there always turns into a "Man I need to leave this place" epiphany one morning while looking for the nearest Pedialyte and Advil.
 
I found out how old I was last night and how different my mindset is.

I went to downtown historic Ybor last night. I don’t really care for bars and stuff but my coworker is 24 and raring to go so I figured I’d walk around for a while and have a beer here and there, and just people watch.

We meet this really awesome guy, in the pic above, and talk to him for an hour or so. Great time. But we had walked past a club earlier, and it was college night. Girls were lined up, and barley wearing anything waiting to get in. He was dying to go into that club. I told him I didn’t have any business in there and didn’t want to go, but if I could sit down somewhere and have a beer I’d tough it out for just a little bit. He pays my way in which was $20/person and that just seems crazy to me.

We go in there and it’s just awful. Worst experience of my life I think. Everyone is basically nose to nose. There’s a midget fire fighter guy dancing on some thing hanging from the ceiling, girls on swings, people dancing and all got their phones out live streaming them doing all this, everyone was wasted. I last less than 15 minutes and told my dude I just couldn’t take it. I was only 15’ from the door and literally couldn’t go any further. Like so many people jammed in there you can’t even navigate and move around. I certainly wasn’t interested in going any further.

I bail and go across the street, grab a slice of pizza and a beer and people watch, figuring my buddy will be out in 30-40 minutes. What I saw next bothered me to my core. There were 18-20 year old girls everywhere, puking, carrying one another, falling down, staggering.

From the perspective of a 33 year old with a beautiful 10 year old daughter, and a fairly conservative southern guy raised in the Bible Belt, this was shocking to me. Yeah I had my wild days, and I joke around saying “I like to party” but this was like nothing I ever seen. This place made Myrtle Beach look like a Baptist church.
The extent of my partying is usually a funny night of too many beers with some good buddy’s and lots of jokes and shenanigans. I thought I was a little wild till last night lol.
When I was in that club I felt like I was in the devil’s lair or something lol.

So outside I waited around for my buddy, but he had worked his way to the 3rd floor and said he was gonna hang out a while, so I caught an Uber back to my hotel. He came back at 4am, and is really on the struggle bus this morning.

I’m not hating on anyone who’s into that lifestyle, to each their own. But it wasn’t my scene at all and I just pray I can give my daughter a good solid foundation and she won’t want to be a part of that.
 
Korea is weird. The food is good though. The plane ride still sucks and my ass cheeks hurt from sitting for so long.

Glad I'm getting paid good for this...

In cedar falls Iowa for a work trip. Only here for a day, I forgot how flat the Midwest truly is, can't wait to GTFO. I'm staying next to a John Deere factory in one of the original buildings from the 1800s that was turned into a courtyard, kinda cool. I was woken up this morning to either some dude having the time of his life next door to me or the ghost of someone getting Maimed in a steam driven industrial machine, verdict is still out

@77GreenMachine Trampas fucking wild man. I grew up in one of the drinking capitals of the US (shitcago) and my wife and I went to a comedy festival in Trampa and never saw so many falling down shit faced people in public ever, we were shocked!

I was aware...but sit on a 14 hour flight and let me know how your ass feels! Especially after getting raped (dry) by our lovely gubment!
 
I'm home from Korea. I don't plan on going back. That place sucks. My Sunday was 37 hours long. I'm tired. Yall keep it between the ditches....I'm going to sleep...in MY bed with my dogs!

If I had one of those every month (as well as the energy and stamina from my 20's) I MAY be able to stay ahead of the yard, house, vehicle maint etc :shaking:

It's weird that I traveled for over 30 hours and it was Sunday the entire way. Time travel is wild!
