This sucks...New N.C. DOT Laws

Holy crap...49 posts and only ONE mention of the big one for us..
§ 20‑135.4. Certain automobile safety standards.
(a) Definitions. – For the purposes of this section, the term "private passenger automobile" shall mean a four‑wheeled motor vehicle designed principally for carrying passengers, for use on public roads and highways, except a multipurpose passenger vehicle which is constructed either on a truck chassis or with special features for occasional off‑road operation.

:shaking:

well actually post #24 mentions this, just doesnt cite the exact legal paragraph.

so is this April 1st Tom Foolery or what!? I was planning on outfitting my CJ with rockets so I can colonize Mars, will that pass inspection :alien:

whats wrong with a redneck building a truck in his barn? seems to me it would be better than a yankee that didnt know anything about vehicles tryin to build somethin in his driveway....sorry im a redneck and damn proud of it

Dude...chill...he didn't imply "southerner". He said "redneck", which is typically associated with numerous knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathers whose family trees don't fork. The inbreeding has an effect on vehicle modification skills, where you find people saying things like "awww, man...these brake lines ain't too dry-rotted...I bet I can use 'em anyways...". Scary? You bet! Unfortunately, it's been that way for years,

When a lifted, late-model 70's F150 passes me on the road, and I see that the owner has lifted his ride and is using blocks of wood for lift blocks...I usually find myself saying "that's pretty redneck". That, and "man, I'd love to have that truck". I really would like one.

The funny thing is..."redneck" does for southerners what "nigger" does for African-Americans. (oooohhh....he said the "n" word...) Seeing black people call other black people "nigger" is like watching a pig celebrate the very shit he's rolling in. Pretty ignorant, if you ask me...which you didn't, and you'll probably be mad that someone dared step up and display an air of intellect by dressing down your comment.

Call it what you want...either the bill has been passed and there's no current record, or this is a great April Fool's Day hoax...or maybe I'm in a coma, quietly reading a book & drinking some coffee while sitting next to Elvis and wondering when Herb is gonna call me back. Herb never returns my calls...that prick.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled thread responses.

first inbreeding would be all the hillbillies/hicks, not the rednecks:shaking:....ya know where the word REDNECK is from???? possibly from the working class folks, i.e. farmers, mechanics, etc etc that have RED NECKS (go figure) from being out in the sun all day.....blue collar boys is another label for rednecks

i take pride in being a southerner and also a redneck at that...so how does it have any effect such as nigger does to the "ethnic" crowd:confused:

damn one of the best april fools jokes yet, what got me is that it was pretty believable and the fact that he posted it 2 days before april fools made me think he was telling the truth. i got on just to look and see what kind of trickery was going on. i remember last years pretty good. the guy selling the dodge diesel for a fifth of what it was really worth and then some people getting pretty pissed because it was a joke. but this one was more believable so i commend you on that CAS22

Sorry to say but it can not be an April fools joke unless it is started on April 1st..

it was my april fools day absentee ballot because i wouldn't be there on the first until that night...

i just didn't expect to scroll down and find a blacks v.s. rednecks war going on

Hillbilly implies an individual derived from the mountainous region of an area, i.e. Western North Carolina for everyone from NC. I'm going to go out on a limb based on what I've been reading and say that you arn't exactly breaking any negative stereotypes, so how about you keep your comments about "hillbillies" and other sundry mountain folk to yourself if the term redneck strikes such discourse with you, because it doesn't sound like you have any room to condescend anyone.
