Time to get this mess over, who's had the shot?

I got the first dose of the Phiser shot today, (it's amazing who qualifies for it now, I don't even work on things anyone has to have, "transportation"). It's been about 7 hours, starting to get tired (might be from too many beers yesterday!), not getting any harsh side effects yet.

I haven't and probably won't get it for personal reasons but I dont shame anyone who does. its a personal choice. everyone I know that has had the shot had very little side effects if any.

yep sums it up

I had the mayor stop by today (no shit). He said seniors in our area, 65 and over, that only 60% have taken the shot. He wondered why the other 40% didn't want it. Once I started asking about mask mandates he made a hasty retreat. I think ole Pat won't be getting my vote this go round.

If the gubment wanted me to have it that bad, they would make it a requirement for cashing your stimulus.... LOL

Got the Pfizer shots back in Jan & Feb at the VA in Salisbury. Had no problems or reactions at all. Slight discomfort in shoulder next day. Both shots went about the same.

I'm ready as soon as this 90 days wears off. I'm not about to get this shit again. My wife had the Pfizer vaccine and the shit works, we are proof.

My next door neighbor just told me he's not getting it because it alters your DNA. I was like um, no, it doesn't. Lots of idiots out there.

I work in the pharma engineering industry. The amount of misinformation out there is obscene. I've been working on COVID projects for over a year now.

I don't want to think there are people in the world that believe shit like that..but there are..and they vote

My understanding is after 90 days those antibodies are gone and you can in fact get it again.

Hmm, how is that a thing? What about the people who still test positive for it 90 days after they've had it?

Get it or don’t. I won’t judge but I have tested twice due to contact with positive people. Tested positive both times and have had no symptoms at all. Appreciate the days off but I’m not running out to get the shot. Not sure what the deal is but I would ask for those that post they have or have not had it post your blood type for shits and grins it was a thing that they shrugged off but it does honestly have its merits of possibly being a trait for resistance.
Mine is O+.

P.S. I may wind up taking it cause the army is starting to go down the path of “you don’t have to get it but if you want to go to X location for training you can only go if you have had the round of Vacs”. I don’t want to limit my capability’s to attend training because of some damn shot. They have already stuck me with so much shit, meh.
Hell, idk even know what to think anymore....

Just going off what I was told, which has been several different things over the last year. I have no clue honestly, take it with a grain of salt.
As for the vaccine, I have no plans to take it nor does my wife. But that may change. My thoughts are this: I have been exposed to confirmed positive people 3 times. One of those I even drive his Jeep, touched all the stuff he touched, and I still haven’t gotten it. Tested negative just last week after being with the president of my company and he tested positive. The dude who sat next to him didn’t get it, the dude one more person over did. I don’t understand it. I don’t fault anyone who gets it, go for it. I just haven’t had the feeling that I’m high enough risk to need it.

My one hang up is, can I still give it to others? Will the vaccine prevent me from spreading it even if I don’t get it? Seems the answer is no to most sources, and that I could still “carry it” even if I got the shot.

B- is my blood type. Been tested a dozen times over the last year for direct contact. Had a toddler sneezing in my face and wiping snot all over, that was Covid positive. I haven’t tested positive yet, but did have antibodies according to a Baptist study (as a result of my dads ‘pneumonia’ at the beginning of 2020) about 9-10 months ago.

I got the Moderna back in January / February. First shot was okay. Arm hurt a little more than a flu shot, but nothing else. Second shot was rough. Felt like I had the flu for 2 days or so. I slept through most of it though.

I work EMS now so I've been around it first hand for a while. Personally I've never had it (knock on wood) but some coworkers have. They have ranged from "okay" to "absolutely miserable with long lasting symptoms". One girl is in her early twenties and still can't taste anything nearly three months later.

B- also. I was unable to catch the rona from my wife. We made no attempt to quarantine from each other since we were both out of work for 2 weeks due to her being positive.

i dont plan on getting it, simply for the same fact i dont get a flu shot. Ive never gotten the flu shot and dont plan to get it either.

Now i may have to get it to fly but when that time comes i will review my options and decisions. im also a hard headed ass hole and when someone says i HAVE to do something i tend to buck at that.

My taste came back after a few days, but some sweet stuff tastes like plastic. It is disgusting. My brother had it over 9 months ago and still doesn't have his back.

I know 2 different people that have antibodies after 6 + months. They both had zero symptoms and were only around family with the covid.
I know two people who have had it twice, about 6 months apart. The second time it wasn't as bad, but they still got it again.

Some people just don't get it, it is weird. I got it and my older son got it, but my 10yo didn't. My wife is vaccinated and didn't get it but me and my 14yo did.

People can test positive for a long ass time and not actually have an active infection going on. The test cannot tell the difference between a live, active and replicating virus and a dead one.

It can. They just choose not to run the test that way.

Antibodies are only one part of your immune system response.

If the test returns positive both for active infections and for past infections, this is just an anecdote about somebody who got rona then had a cold a while later.

Also, if immunity doesn't last six months, it remains unanswered what you think you'll gain from a vaccination.
