Time to get this mess over, who's had the shot?

im also a hard headed ass hole and when someone says i HAVE to do something i tend to buck at that.
That's funny and true. I'll probably get around to getting the shot(s) when it's not inconvenient or have to wait in line or scour sites for availability. Unless someone tells me I have to get it. Then I'll do everything I can to not get it.

Got my first Pfizer shot this past Saturday. Arm was sore at injection site the next day. Get my second one on the 10th. To each their own if they want it or not as I could care less and wont "preach" about why you should or why you shouldn't as I do not have the facts to do so on either level, but the older I get, some of my thought processes have changed. It was only last fall that I ever had my first flu shot ever, before that I was one of those who figured I did not need it.

Also, if immunity doesn't last six months, it remains unanswered what you think you'll gain from a vaccination.
That's what I've been trying to figure out. Apparently you'll have to get the vaccine every 90 days to 6 months????

I'm no FB virologist, but from what little I've gathered from the nurses I know...it will be more similar to the annual flu shot (which I've never gotten, and only had the flu twice in my life)

I'll pass on the flu shot long before the covid vaccine, however to remain employed I must comply with the overlords. I trust my immune system to handle them both but that covid vaccination record is as good as a passport for the foreseeable future and I miss going on cruises and getting drunk in pretty places.

No crap!! I hate they closed victoria secrets in the mall :kaioken:

First...ha

Second...my address received a Victoria's Secret catalog in the mail for the first time in years. My first thought was it was no coincidence, with no annual show any more and covid, they're going back to their roots. My second initial thought was, I never figured out how to keep pages from sticking together. I'm all for getting unsolicited mail like that.

I got the first round of Pfizer last week.

I had COVID back in October and it hit me hard the first 4-5 days. My wife is a nurse in the COVID unit at UNC and she bought a pulse/oxygen meter when I had it. I got down to a 90% saturation and could barely walk to the kitchen without having to stop to catch my breath. She was about to take me to the ER and then things started to clear up. I swear I'll never have it again if I can help it so I jumped on the vaccine train as soon as I was eligible.

The day I meet anyone in my group of friends/family/coworkers or even neighbors and aquaintance within 50 miles of me that's actually had Covid, I'd consider getting a shot.
I live in a bubble, never leave the house, and run from fresh air. Fresh air and freedom = bad.

I've had both my Pfizer shots. First one I had puny feelings within 2 -3 hours, but it was gone by the next day. second shot, No reaction! Most people, even Doctors, told me the second shot is the Bad one. Just shows everyone is different! And btw, Myself & several friends I know, had Appointments, with No waiting in line.

First Pfizer shot in the books. Go back in 3 weeks for the second. It's only been an hour but so far, no adverse effects.

ive got 5 friends that got it at different times, one that was hospitalized for two days, but yet his roommate that lived in a 800sf house and was stuck with him for two weeks didnt catch it?

i may regret not getting it if i get it and get really sick, but im taking my chances.

I'm not going to get it until it's made mandatory for travel. I'll gladly wear a mask vs take the vaccine. I've never had/wont get a flu shot either.

IF the vaccine works they why do people who have had it still have to wear a mask?
From my understanding it is still unknown with all vaccinations if you can be a carrier for an illness. The vaccination prevents you from becoming ill with the diesase but the contagion can still replicate inside of your body and potentially to the point of contagious.

Also, and more importantly. Most if not all of the folks who say they will not get the vaccine are also the ones who refuse to wear a mask. Those folks can just say "I got the vaccine" and there is no way to prove otherwise. So, it easier to tell everyone to wear a mask to weed out those who would refuse to do both

Edit: thought this was the garage.

It's cool that no one has to pretend the mask-shaming and totalitarian rules on normal everyday behavior aren't totalitarian.

my wife and i are both going thru the Covid now, both of us had different symptoms. Hers has been like a bad cold, cough, congestion, lots of phlegm. I watch her pretty tight with the pulse OX lowest she has been was 88% felling run down ( run over ) best thing for her to sleep is having CPAP on, she sleeps like a baby.

Me on the other hand, I've had some congestion, but the worst has been hip and leg pain, severe pain on fire, i can't sleep laying down. headache and some diarrhea.

today we both just felt like we had been hit by a truck. and the loss of taste and smell is pretty bizarre !

once were clear of this mess and have waited the required, we will both get the shot.

this stuff sucks !

My symptoms were pretty mild. I know I do questionable stuff everyday but I just don't feel comfortable taking a experimental vaccine for a virus with a 99% survival rate. Deep down inside I feel like this whole mess is just a tool for the Govt to control us.

If you're in the 30-39 age group like me, it's actually 99.9% survival rate. With that said, there are other long term issues that come with it, so the survival rate doesn't tell the whole story.
