Tub Change started

Looks good. Now seems like a pretty good time to link the rear..:D

 And loose the Booty fab Character I have worked so hard to obtain???
Nah, FOr the money it'll take to do all that right, it would pay for a years worth of wheeling for me! I'll stay with what I have(suspension wise that is).

Yesterday We got all the heater controls put back in. Got the WIndshield painted. I also fixed a major couple of cracks in my frame. The defrost duct work( the cloth wire stuff) was in bad shape. It got a nice new coat of duct tape. I think it will hold and work OK, and it.s not really seen.
Next thing we are gonna do is set the tub on, get it mounted, and get all the wiring put in.
This is all looking better than I had hoped so gonna do something I wasn't gonna do. Gonna make some of those nice tube fenders for it.
Also, there in't much room underneath the tub so I think I am going to run my air hose, propane supply hose and battery leads through the inside and out the back so they will be protected and not rubbing on anything.

Lookin' good Chip, can't wait to see the finished product! Oh yeah, that stuff looks waaay too clean. :D

I lucked on this one Troy. I took it and some boot, on trade for a propane system. As I said not perfect, but not too bad. Last Tub I found was burned. I kept it for a year, and sold it for a couple hundred more than I paid. Should have kept it, but oh well.

when? good question! Soon I hope. Still some wiring to finish, then the cage and that's about it. Snow wheeling kinda doubtful. No top and doors makes it a bit chilly, esp if you get wet. But wheelin will be done. Didn't built it to look at, built to play!

lil more

All I got done today.

Holy batteries Batman!! Are you installing hydraulics too? :D

ummmm maybe you didn't know,...................I have downsized. I used to run 4 batteries. 2 for winching, and 2 for welding. Now I will be able to have all three online for winching, and still be able to isolate 2 of them to run 24V for welding.

That's cool. I figured you used them for your ready welder etc... What else left to do?

Finish the wiring, not much there to do. instal the new tilt steering, and MAster Cylinder. Put the cage back in and finish it out the back. finish building the propane tank mounts. Might have some Pneumatics involved.

Lookin GREAT chip!

Can you expand on how you're acomplishing this?

Pictures or diagrams would be excellent.

Diagram

OK, to begin with, I ain't no artist! And with only a couple colors of sharpies,....I hope it's understandable.

Positive and negative into main battery as normal.
Both aux1 and aux2 batteries have disconects on all posts. So, when disconnected, the main and the Aux batteries are ALL isolated. The quick connect is connected to the positive side of AUX2, and the Negative side of AUX1. When the batteries are connected this makes the Quick disconnect 12V Everything is parallel. When disconnected, and a Jumper from the NEgative side of AUX2, to the Possitive side of AUX1, this will make the Quickconnect 24V

You're disconnecting the Aux batteries from the vehicle first, tho.... right?

Because you can't do the floating ground thing if the batteries are connected in parallel at the same time.

yeah well, ain't never claimed to be the fab/engineer/good speller/know how to use this art program thing on here guy. But, I get by
