Got a little more completed today.
When I extendedmy frame I created a starage space in the rear between the frame rails. When I started redoing the Jeep I found that I wanted/needed to place the propane tanks over where the storage is. So I needed to come up with a solution. At first, I was going to do something like what Rich did with the liftgate shocks. But, I was no convinced that they would be strong enough since they would be lifting my propane tanks, and the heavy built rack I made for them. So I decided to go another way. A pheumatic cylinder was used. Here is a Vid of it working. Not complete yet, just barely got it working and it started raining on me. I think I will need to put a regulator inline, and a limit strap or chain to keep it from slamming the top of the cylinder. I have not made the back mounts yet to secure the rear of the rack. Ok, and yes, I know that hat looks goofy. But it is warm. Flame away.
