Bought the truck as an abandoned project back in January from member here. Most of the build has already taken place but I wanted to make a thread here to help meet new locals to wheel with.

I really love the truck, I plan to eventually building a similar Exo on my hardbody if I ever get back started on the build. If I ever get it finished we need to get together. I'm also in Winston.

U bolts wouldn't work with the square truss on the bottom and the pinion angle I wanted so I went to a buddies and we whipped up some u bolt eliminators

Rolled it trying the far left after it had just rained. Cage held up awesome, only damage I could find was a penny sized dent in one of the roof tubes

Yeah if I wouldn't have inboarded my springs I could have gotten away with u bolts. Where my springs are now the u bolts would slide over the truss but were tilted way back and there was no way they'd fit in the top plate.

Haha yeah when I get an idea in my head I tend to run with it! Turbo is a knockoff .50 a/r t3/t4. I picked it up super cheap so I figured I'd use it to build my setup around then replace it with a better quality turbo down the road.

Going to start at 5psi and see how it goes; shooting for 7-8psi on only injectors and a fuel pump. If I get bored I may add a piggy back and bump the boost up to 10-12psi. Motor has ~130k. From everything I've read 3rz's are good up to 15 psi on stock internals but head studs are a good idea there.

Well I am off work for the rest of the year so I should start making some good progress in the next day or so. I'm going to leave the egr in place and just cap it for now. I have the truck tagged so I will need to pass inspection and wont be able to do so if the CEL is on. I've read you can add a resistor to fool the computer into thinking it's still intact so I'm going to try that before I completely remove it.

No the stock 3rz ecu should be able to handle the boost I'm wanting to run. If I want to go bigger I will have to get some sort of piggy back like megasquirt, map3ecu, ect. The injectors are factory toyota pink tops that come in 01-04 3rz's, they are 315cc I believe.

are you going to install an air/fuel gauge or just do data logging on the obd2 to see if you are too lean?

I bought an AEM wideband gauge.
