Turbo Solid Axle Tacoma Build

Trucks=life.

Yeah I saw them. The only real pro with those is the high steer arms, diff cover, and 35 splines. I'd still have to gear them, buy a Detroit, hubs, and rework that truss.

Oh yeah my a/c will freeze you out haha. For some reason my tires wont stay centered on my wheels. I was very careful to take my time and even measured the gap all the way around bewteen the bolt holes and the bead to make sure it was centered. I'm guessing as I tighten the ring down the bead is getting pushed one way or another. I get vibes at 53mph and by 65 shit starts going crazy. A buddy was following me on a few pulls and said he could see my tires shaking and it looked like they were about to come off the ground lol. I really would like to at least be able to run 70-75 so I need to figure out something. Might go to racelines and see if a factory made beadlock helps.

I've built two sets of weld on beadlocks and they did fine on the street. Maybe someone welded your rings off center? Oh well you can't built a crawler and expect it to drive good on the street too lol

I welded them on and I used pennies to space the ring evenly. It's like my tires are shifting off center as I tighten the rings down. I don't expect it to drive like a car bit I would like to be able to run the highway

Been busy with wedding stuff but did manage to find a few hours Sat morning to put around URE.

Dip was on there for over a year. It had been brushed on trees, rocks, went through a rollover, and was just starting to look rough. A lot of it was stained as well

I've been doing a lot of thinking on the tons and I think I'm back on keeping my cruiser axles. My biggest complaint right now is instability which I think is a result of my crazy body roll. A buddy brought up a good point being that if I can get it properly linked and outboard my shocks that it would more than likely cure/minimize my body roll. I did also find what's limiting my steering. It looks like my knuckleball gussets are a little far out on the knuckleball causing it to contact the wipers early.

So now the question is do I link my current housing and risk bending it or go ahead and order a diamond/ruffstuff and not have to worry about it again? I also think that I'm going to look into racelines to reduce my rotating mass for peace of mind.

Just saw this thing for sale on Craigslist. Sure hate I won't be meeting the builder on the trail one day.

I'll probably still wheel it some while I wait for it to sell, so there's still a chance lol.
