will someone explain to me exactly where the race starts and where it ends on rocky mountain loop, I have been told it starts where dutch john intersects the trail, but where does it end. If it starts @ Dutch John intersection then I assume it goes up through Kodak Rock, but where does it end thanks in advance

after talking to Sean, this is the race course as he expained it to me, its the black ad yellow highlighted section

Alright guys. there appears to be some confusion about the stock class. The regulations have been up and NOT CHANGED since early January. It clearly states in stock class that rear traction devices are allowed. The reason for this is because many production vehicles have traction control in the rear that is push button and we have no way to control someone from using it. There fore we allowed EVERYONE in stock to have a locker or traction control, or weld etc.... FRONT DIF MUST REMAIN OPEN and will be checked. Keep in mind that Stock Class will run the easiest routes possible on the course. This means you will go around to the right of Kodak and up the easy lines everywhere else. You will undoubtedly be the fastest class barring rain and we don't feel that a traiction controlled rear end will help substantailly. Driving skills are going to make the difference out there. Steady and controlled will win this race! If you feel your at a disadvantage there is still time to back out. We hope hope you don't because we feel that this is a non issue. The refund date has already past, but we will give anyone in A class until friday to back out.

Guys I have not met Sean,Dylan, Ricky, or any of the other guys but, I can say this. If you look at what has been done these guys are working hard to provide something great for everyone involved. To say that you are thinking of backing out is being a coward. I dont care who has a locker it is going to come down to driving and your rig holding together...Lets all have a good time and enjoy it:Rockon::driver:

Well said...and thanks for saying it!

Its cool with me, I just wanted to make sure I could go ahead and weld my rear and be legal, did not want to show up after all the work and be DQ'd, everybody will get over it, if it does not rain, lockers will be a non issue anyway. I have a feeling that the racer that does not break, and keeps it out of the trees will be the winner. I will be going to get some argon and install my lincoln locker ASAP, thanks for the answers.:driver:

thanks for the response

I also enjoyed talking to you. You did well answering some of our questions and being professional. On that note, I think Sean owes Janet (the camp hostess) an apology and also needs to think about his actions when he's promoting. If you could pass that on...
I wasn't there, so I have no idea what happened -- but I can tell you this...

If ANYTHING took place where Janet Becker (even in the slightest way) *might* be owed an apology... I'd be getting right on that, ASAP!

Taken care of. Thanks.

What's the final answer on the rear locker in A class? I think it is time to be 100% clear on this topic.

Weld away stump. As per blackangus a little ways up:

There fore we allowed EVERYONE in stock to have a locker or traction control, or weld etc.... FRONT DIF MUST REMAIN OPEN and will be checked.

Yep...weld away on the rear. BUT...dont mess with the front. We will be checking front diffs for lockers. Offenders will be Dq'ed...at the starting line.

go and reread posts number 140,190,and 201.

The refund date has already past, but we will give anyone in A class until friday to back out.

post number 281 states april 25th for refunds.I don't believe I have time-warped anywhere.

stock class is non existent in my opinion now.Might as well combine the 2 classes and either solicite 50 more dollars from each entrant in stock or refund 50 dollars to each in stock modified.

I have no problems running against locked rigs.I prefer not to p***y my rig by having one on it:rolleyes:.It's purely a principle thing with me now with all the back peddling on different subjects.I think ya'll who are in charge need to sit down and re-read these pages and write down notes on what has been decided.

I've vented now :bounce:

IMO, the rule can be very very simple. "Tractio ncontrol as provided in the BASE MODEL from the factory." This elimiates the TRDs and Rubicons. These are OPTION packages provided by the manufacturer. Is it "stock"? Yes, you can buy it from teh dealer. Did all teh models have it? NO.
But so is a Rubicon. Are you allowing a stock Rubi in A class? No? Well it has front lcokers. Hey, suddenly that's not fair either. That's a "stock" vehicle by this definition.

Oh and thanks for teh reminder, I need to pull my entry for my Runner. Which was put in B ONLY b/c it has an LSD in the back. 32s and AT tires, yet I was content being there b/c I knew it wasn't *stock*.

Please bare with us a little more guys and gals. I know there seems to be some back peddling. We are absolutely NOT trying to make things difficult. This being a first time event there will be changes and maybe a few contradictions along the way. For those who ride out the chaos...You're in for a helluva ride come raceday.

The decision to allow lockers in A class was made to level the playing field amongst those with factory lockers(trd yotas for example) v/s those without. By allowing everyone to have lockers in the rear, is the only clear fair solution. And to the folks who entered thinking '' no lockers'' The only fair thing to do is refund money if they wish.

AW will be sending out racer packets by the end of this week. We had to bump up the refund date a while ago so as to have an accurate count of the rigs racing. The Race # Plates cost us over $5 each, not to mention all of the shipping and schwag. So forgive us for not wanting to create a logistical nightmare by awarding refunds too late in the game. We need to know exactly who is racing to make sure we don't waste race fee resources. Thank you.

I have known since day one that stock traction devices were going to be allowed. This I have no problems with.Hell,if a rubi wants to run stock, let em.Ya'll are allready allowing alot with the unlimited lift and unlimited body mods.

Oh I need to clear up what I said above.
I am NOT BAILING on competing, I'm simply withdrawing the entry I made with my 4Runner, b/c I will now instead be sriving the $30 XJ in the A-class. I simply can't justify driving 2 different vehicles.
I'm all for this, and fully support it. just a little dissapointed on the lack of clarity on these things. Oh well.

Originally (many pages ago) there was mention of a "tech czar", whose job would be to answer all of these "does thsi qualify, is this OK" kinds of questions. Was such a person ever appointed?

I don't want to open pandora's box here, but when I called Sean D on Tuesday about registering, he said stock was basically anything with 33" tires or less, he said a locker was ok. He said they were just going by tire size, somebody let me and the others know. Thanks

man I was on the money with the pandora's box prediction,

but if you say offered in base model, than this excludes chevy vehicles with the govenor lock in the rear. The posi didnt come in base models, only on the models with other options, so does that mean that a stock 98 z71 with 33's has to run bclass?

Or if someone is running an explorer that has a limited slip, that does not come in the base model then they have to run b-class.....that doesnt make sense
