I am a network nazi. I terrorize helpless end users and prevent them from enjoying our company's IT infrastructure while holding a double standard for myself and fellow coworkers.

In my off time I have my own little company and pimp some friends out to do IT work for small businesses.

Cell Site Technician for SumCom Wireless. Responsible for making sure the sites in my area function properly, along with whatever else they can think of.
The good: I see my Boss about 4 times a year, have a company truck and company gas card, and no cell phone bills.
The bad: I am on call every other weekend and can't go more than 1 hour from the market.

I work at a small family owned automotive machine shop. We do it all, from mild to wild. I have seen 500hp Hondas, and 800+bigblocks. Mostly stock work though. I mostly do head work, but have been involved in all of it from clean up to loading it up for the cutomer. We do a lot of the dealership work for all the local dealers. We do lath and bridgeport work as well. As I said small, 2 of us sometime 3, but not much work ever turned down. Great guy to work for and I AM treated like one of the family. He drag races, and I crawl, and he understands work is second to family. Also very understanding when I need time off for wheeling, but I don't leave him in a bind.

On my off time, I weld whatever, fab some, and help out friends. I am a one of only 3 Ready Welder dealers in NC and piddle in buying and resale of many things. Dad to three, and a G-paw to boot.
Nothing glamorous, but happy with life

Aircraft Mech currently working on 1 Gulfstream, 2 Learjets, 5 Cessna Citations, 1 Dassault Falcon and a Beechcraft. Have worked on "bugsmashers" to 747-200 combis. Aircraft business SUCKS right now!

Have a side business "Steel Works" (SW, get it) that I started. Do some 4x4 stuff like bumpers, parting out beaters, etc, but mainly residential/recreational fab and repair. Was co-founder of K&W 4X4 Center in Concord that ran from like '84ish to 91 I think, don't really remember when we moved out of that. Repair and fab on some of the Stihl SAWA Lumberjack Series equipment (they just had a show at Big Lick and will be back at the Lexington BBQ Festival).

Do some fiberglass work when I want to and was a Steeple Jack for 5 years (back when you could ride the ball) so I'm still decent with a crane.

Main line and best job is Dad to two little girls :) .

Civil Designer / Cadd Manager of Civil / Survey Dept. at Bass, Nixon and Kennedy Consulting Engineers, Inc.
Good about my job, after setting on my ass all day, I'm anxious to wrench when I get home!

I'm a Information Security analyst for a local health insurance company... in Engrish, we keep virus crap in check, and piss off users when we tell them they can't have Yahoo Messenger on their PC's.. It pays the bills, but I don't really enjoy it at all.

In my off time, I work on the Cruiser, and when I'm not working on it, we do fab stuff, mostly Toyota & Jeep.. (RnR Fab)

I do Systems Integration for a local computer company. Basically I make things work with other things. I own the backup system covering over 300 nodes, w/ 2.5TB spinning disk -> 54slot LTO library. Currently designing (fixing ) the customers Win-AD implimentatoin. I could fill a page with the 1 off projects ive done... Pager rotation? whats tha't ? LOL I'm on call, period.

Off time I do as little as possible, currently enjoying the EFI/TBI project on the jeep, getting to brush up on some long forgotten skills I learned in college.. (BS computer engineering)

I am an Engineer by training and am a Project Manager with CDM in Raleigh, a full service Architecht/Engineer/Construction firm.

I am also a Dad.

I consider myself damn lucky that my wife and son like 4-wheeling and it is developing into a family hobby.

In between I am a frustrated Jeep mechanic wannabe. I try to do as much as I can myself but realize my limitations.

I am glad I can not say I am a Toyota 4-Runner mechanic wannabe because the damn thing runs so good I don't know that much about it.

Own an independant repair shop for Mercedes, Bmws, Volvo, and Porsche. Started working here in college at 20 sweeping the floor, worked my way up and bought one of the partners out 5 years ago. I'm very lucky in that my current partner and I get along great. I'll be buying him out next year and have it all. The downside is I pay myself about half what I was making when I just worked here. The upside is the shop pays for all my wheeling related expenses and I pretty much work when I want to.

i'm a slacker/lazy ass. plain and simple :D

i'm a capacity engineer for HYSTER/YALE brand forklifts. i run the aftermarket side of things, where i determine the new capacities for lift trucks once they have been changed(modified) or attachments have been added to them. I'm currently commuting 110 miles round trip a day and entertaining offers for something closer to the house. (BS in Ind. Tech. Design/Drafting from ECU)

Office Manager for America's Best Realty in Durham. Data Entry, phones, mail, order supplies, the usual.

Bought my 90 S15 Jimmy in Dec 04 and want to try it offroad ASAP. Before I came to NC I used to drive a stock 2WD S10 pickup all over Fort Dix, NJ and had fun doing it. :driver:

And before THAT....

I have been: marketing slug, graphic designer, digital imaging manager, workstation video test engineer, just started a new job doing technical, server and worstation sales slicks for a local computer company. Contract work ... but pays real good and I get to work from home, best way to save gas money yet.

Currently have some hook ups for h/w and s/w test positions at said computer company. Necessary skills: pc/server h/w, multiple OS's and basic network config stuff. Oh and one of them requires being able to play video games ... lol.

I keep dreaming about opening a 4wd shop, but will probably just end up slaving for the man.

I'm an accountant, hoping to get licensed as a CPA and make full partner by the end of the year. I work in a small (5 professionals + support staff), family-owned CPA firm with my father & uncle in Lumberton, NC. Our client base is primarily in SE NC and NE SC, but we're willing to travel for the right kind of job. Industry wise, we do a little of everything. We do a lot of work for farmers, but also have several manufacturing and service business clients. We also do a lot of non-profit consulting and audits. Of course, we also do tax returns, but tend to concentrate primarily on businesses and higher-income individuals.

I really enjoy personal financial planning and investments, and business acquistions & valuation. I hope to pursue the CFP designation in the near future. I'm also attending school part-time to finish up an MBA.

If anyone needs any kind of tax, bookkeeping or advisory services, I'd be happy to try to help you out.

Email me, PM me, or call the office (910) 618-9797 and ask for Hank.

I'm married and a homeowner (so you know where my free time goes). No kids, but I do have a dog. I'm an avid do-it-yourselfer, and I love anything outdoors.

So it looks like I'm a bit of an oddball here. Who knew?

I guess my formal title is "graduate research fellow" at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, in Neurobiology and Anatomy.
Yep, I'm a "brain science" guy, that means I spend all my time doin' crazy research studies and writing stuff. So my potential contribution is, well, if you have a question about yer noggin', or the really cool toys we use to study it, maybe I can help out!

The rest of the time I'm a homeowner and new dad. So, yeah, that means there really is no "free" time, but when there is, I spend it noodling w/ my 4Runner. I'm completely a self-taught shadetree mechanic, learn by first breaking it then having to fix it.

Also do alot of house renovation/construction stuff/ projects etc if anybody needs a hand.
