I went to school at CPCC in the GM ASEP program where I graduated top of my class and recieved the MR.Goodwrench award. I then worked for 6 yrs in the dealer on Chevy, Cadillac, and Pontiacs. After tiring of the flat rate game I gave up the dealer for short employment at a small Diesel shop. Now, I'm a Industial Maitenance Journeyman Mechanic at class 8 truck manufacturing plant. I'm a member of the UAW. I weld, fabricate, preform machine work, and basically do what I can to keep the plant building trucks.

For hobbies I enjoy R/C cars and planes. I tinker on my old Bonco and piddle on a few other things for friends. All when I'm not coach my sons' Little League teams. It's not glamorous, but hey, someone has to do it...
I bet this truck plant is located in a little town named Cleveland, NC. Perhaps off of Hwy 70? Does it start with an "F"

I work for BellSouth Advertising & Publishing. I make the ads in the yellow pages for all the books in NC. Been here for 6 years. Fun place to goof off and get some work done sometimes. Great benefits too.

Been married for 5 years & have a son due on Aug 29.

Like to wrench on anything with 4 tires & a motor.

I've met a lot of nice folks here on NC4x4.

I am a CPA, one of 3 partners at Delman & Company, CPAs in Greensboro, NC. I also am about to sit for the Real Estate exam, and then opening a property management company for residential real estate.

And...then because I cannot seem to quit going to school (AA, BS, MBA) I am looking at going to Law school next fall, and doing the JD/CPA/MBA/over educated thing...heh

Sam...more initials than you can shake a stick at...Hinton

I work for the NC Air National Guard, located in Charlotte. The benifits are great, I get all expense paid trips to all of the "fun" locations of the world. Rich labeled my position, but I can never get it right.

Graduated top of my class from Spartanburg Tech in the Ford ASSET tech program. Worked at Ford dealers for 5 years as a tech. Then moved to my current dealer, Skyland Automotive. Been there 7 years. I am the head drivetrain tech and strictly Jeep only. I do it all from engine, trans, T-case, axle overhaul, AC, electrical, everything. I also train new techs and write for our in-house newsletter.

Chrysler Master Specialist Certified, ASE Master Certified, and was Ford Master certified until I left them. Been in a dealer since I was 16 years old.

I also have an at home shop (see sig) that I work out of 20-30 hours a week. There I build axles, install lifts, full-on build ups, basically anything.

I love my job at my dealership and the money is terrific. My home shop supports my wheeling habit.

I hope to one day very soon open an Off Road shop and work there full time as owner/ manager. We have a market here in my area for it, I just need the balls to walk away from a high paying job with full benifits and do it...

Im an Art Director/3d animator (wannabe) for a TV station here in Raleigh..

At night I sit on my rear trying to brouse the entire internet..

Electronic Technician, work for a small company in Level Cross, NC (just south of Greensboro). We repair any industrial drives, computer, electronics, and do custom builds.
I'm the one who gets all the euro and undocumented stuff that nobody else will touch. Keeps us in business though. Love my job, I like a challenge.

On the side, I fix about anything from plumbing to fabing on my Yotalet and I also build pc's. (Insert Newegg.com plug here, the best place by far for parts.)

OK, me, well...

By trade, for the past 5 years, and currently, I'm a Structural Steel Foreman for an industrial construction company in Farmville, NC. We do a lot of structural steel fabrication and installation (obviously) as well a general maintenance to places like Weyerhauser, International Paper, Georgia Pacific, Progress Energy, Florida Power, Dominion Power, Perdue, Cargill, Southern States, Gold-Kist poultry feed, Purina (Land O Lakes now), PCS Phosphates, Iams Dog Food, etc. etc. etc. New construction is nice, maintenance work can be, not so good (very dirty). We work out of town most of the time, 50-100 hours a week. Pay sucks, work sucks, benefits suck, but its a job...

Also, I'm in school full time at ECU. I'm a Senior Construction Management major and will be graduating in 2006. School interfeeres with work quite a bit, but I still manage to get 40+ hours in a week at work.

Also, I tend to fabricate just about anything for Jeeps/trucks. I've got all necessary tools I need to keep me busy. I've always got work lined up to keep me busy in my garage. Right now, tube work seems to be the majority of my business...

But, before all of this, I used to run a CNC machine shop. I used to know how to program and run the CNC lathes and milling machines in the shop, but have since forgotten the program codes and such. However, I still dabble a little with the lathe and milling machine at work from time to time.

I guess this wraps me up.

Rob

As of last week...enlisted in the Marine Corps. So in about 9 months barring something bad happening, I should be a 1371 combat engineer. :)

Marine.... 12 yrs and going.
I also did a little time as an installer, and technical support manager for a Directv/dish contractor when I got off active duty the first time.. until I realized I loved blowing things up much more than dealing with idiots calling for help with their tv.. At least once a week (swear to god) I got a call ..tv not working, screen is black.. Yep, you guessed it.. Tv was either not plugged in.. or even funnier.. they didnt turn it on.
