What have you done to your rig today?

Gave her a nice little bath and the gears a good high speed oil dip. Thinking about the logistics and cost of getting her back home (1 hour away). Either drive it there with no tag/no insurance surrounded by distraction vehicles, pay for tag/ins on it and drive it there legally, or pay to have it towed. Soon.
It depends on how rowdy I'm feeling that day as to how I do it.

I'll probably be going to SC to visit family in the next 1-2 months & could give it a lift if its along the way to Prosperity, SC. Just throwing it out there...

Some assembly required.

All the cool trucks growing up had 'rollbars' and KC lights... now mine does too. (But they ain't hooked up yet! ;) )

Anyways, now that the 'worst financial decision of my life' has been churched up, expect inflation to rise another 5% and me not be able to afford it anymore.

(Oh, and yes... in the background that is a pistol lock holding a sensory swing set up. I lost the C Clip and had to make due. And FINALLY found a use for all those stupid required gun safety cable locks that I've a pile of.)

Cleaned the egr system on the Cummins this weekend. First time with this sort of thing. 135k miles, it was just dusty not even worth the 5 hours in my opinion. All that work and no extra power or nuthin to show for it.

I did soak everything in simple green then dumped all the carbon deposits out in the ground. Trees are carbon so I just put it back in the environment. Now I'm making more carbon, but burning some of it twice... Dumb enviro waste of time and resources that only makes me burn more fuel, uh I mean carbon, or trees, maybe it's whale blubber we're saving now???

Watched the alternator on my F250 die last night/this morning. My volt meter would read battery voltage when above 1,500RPM, then 1,200RPM, then 1,000RPM....my apologies to anyone on I85N/I40W from 11pm-1am! Pulled over in Greensboro and tested/cleaned all the connections (also let the alt cool off) with no change. Then it decided to half work and I made it to Creedmoor on 11.8-12.5VDC & finally pulled in the garage at 12.1VDC.

Knocked out a pile of stuff on the 6.5L, removed the vacuum pump and wastegate in favor of a manual spring wastegate; waiting on my gauges now. Also mocked up the location for the PMD, installed a driver's side battery tray since there wasn't one, and pulled the alternator off to take it to get tested. I've got to do the harmonic balancer and pulley and I'm waiting on my new battery cables to arrive, but once I get all that done I should be able to start driving the damn thing.

Pushed chief out and give it a quick power wash of engine bay to get rid of most of the 43 years worth of gunk.
