What have you done to your rig today?

This pic is of one of my baby brother's truck and mileage

Been chipping away at little stuff for both of my trucks, I've mostly been busy with property maintenance but I managed to score a few things over the last couple weeks I've really been hunting to find for both trucks.
The crew will be getting a face lift; I scored a mint GMC grill out of the junkyard a few weeks ago, needs paint and a billet insert

During the same yard trip, I also picked up a Chevy grill and a 100 MPH speedometer; the grill was sort of an impulse since it's in great shape aside from being broken between the corner lenses. I've got it coated with PlasticWeld now and clamped together, since it's getting harder to find reasonably priced OEM parts that are in good shape I don't mind putting in a little effort to fix damaged stuff

Currently my red truck has a speedometer out of a Escalade/Denali trim GMT400, the difference being instead of the standard 100 MPH it's 130 and comes with a different backlight tint, and while it's cool and unique I've just sort of grown tired of it and I'd like to go back to the factory look.

I plan to recondition this cluster; I'm sort of trying to get that truck to the point people question the mileage on it, and little things like the condition of the interior pieces can make a huge difference.
I nabbed some extra needles to experiment with, they were super faded to begin with but after sanding the old coating off and throwing down a few coats of Testors fluorescent orange they came out looking brand new!

I scraped a tree at Kairos in March. I didn't know I did it until I got home. I put a football behind the dent and inflated it and popped it out but also fixed another dent above it that's been there for a while. It was nice to get to the backside of the cowl so it made it easier to fix both. I missed a pic that I wish I had taken. It was after I popped the dent out but before hammering out the creases

That’s a hard spot not to tear up lol I have fixed mine a few times

This just distributes the damage to a larger area, skinning a semi flat panel with no tie in to a solid structure will not be able to support the weight of an entire jeep.

Just look at 1.75” .095 wall tubing on rock sliders, they get dents from trees despite tied to the frame and a lot of times roll cage

Mounted my spare tire. Thanks again Bruce

I forgot how much fun it was to torque all those bolts on the bead locks

Worked on both trucks a little today, started painting the GMC grill to swap on the K3500, I'm probably going to prep and sand a few spots on the dually bed to paint while I've got everything out.
Almost makes me sad to be painting over clean factory white paint...but I'll get over it.
Also removed some of the janky harnesses I bought and installed years ago when I didn't know anything about wiring on my 96 K2500

I decided for a clean factory appearance I'm going to wire relays directly in the OE harness, I'll have 4 pinned in once it's all said and done; two of them will be for the high and low beams, one will be set up to trigger the 4Hi, and the last one for the auxiliary lights mounted in the bumper. I ordered weatherproof relays from Morimoto and Racetronix but I'm not fully convinced against the Hella 4-gang relay box; guess I'll just play around until I find what looks best.

Started de-looming the headlight harness and boy howdy it a mess, the factory wiring is 16-gauge I believe? I'll be stepping up wire sizes to 12 or 14 to account for voltage drop from the power source

Judging by how sad looking all the other plugs and connectors look I'll probably order and install new ones while everything is apart.
