Where is all the toilet paper and paper towels?

ok, I’ll be THAT guy. What the hell is the women setting? Do those gizmos really get the job done? How long before you can pull your shorts back up after the wash and wax finishes?
Yes, gets the job done. Every time is a single wipe, because you’re just drying at that point.
And according to the Mrs it changes the directional of the nozzle “just right”....

No more magic marker wipes or any of that. Wish we had done it years ago.

I don’t understand the toilet paper, people must shit all day long. It’s one thing to get a bad hamburger on the back side of Currie and have an off day. I’m just thinking everyone uses a lot more than I do. If everyone would just use a hand like those damn camal jockeys over in the sand box you wouldn’t even need toilet paper.

My guess is everyone working from home and now unemployed are now using much more TP at home and not at work. Demand remains the same, use mix changed to focus more on home TP instead of work TP.

Know the saying ‘boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that’s why I shit on company time’...boss makes a dollar because he’s gotta be able to pay for everyone’s toilet paper.

I'd never thought about it but I'd bet this is a big contributor.

Like the same reason that sliced ham and bread are in such hot demand. Same amount of lunches bein geaten, but now they're at home instead of out on a lunch break from work.

I gave up looking for it and just ordered via Amazon.

This is what we've done from the beginning but with Sams. My wife is set up to get notified when there in stock and we order it. Free shipping with plus membership. I came home Friday to toilet paper and paper towels on my porch. She also gets it shipped for her mother.

I know it says hot/cold bidet, but do you have to have hot water plumed to it? I like the idea of a bidet, but we have a well and I really don't think I'll want 60 degree water hitting the scrote at 6AM.....

No more magic marker wipes or any of that.

I'm glad my family isn't the only ones to call it "wiping a sharpie".

I need to use single ply

That explains why you're always butt hurt....

That's exactly it. Different manufacturing/packaging/distribution chains for residential vs commercial, little excess capacity, and no easy way to divert production from one system to the other. If you want 12" dia rolls of single-ply, there's plenty to be had.

I actually read and article explaining the toilet paper shortage a couple of weeks ago. Yes a bunch of it was grabbed up by panic buyers in the beginning but the reason it hasnt been restocked quickly enough is the companies are not used to the demand for residential packaged shit paper. Apparently enough people were shitting at work on the clock that once we all were made to stay at home, there was a drastic increase in demand for the residential stuff and a surplus of the industrial giant rambo rolls and other carboard shit paper that employers buy. We always buy the biggest pack of paper and other non perishables anyway cause we hate shopping, so we haven't run out during this covid shit, but in my shopping travels, I have see dollar tree has some tiny rolls in 4 packs that look like they are about as thin as an onion peel if you are desperate.

From Costco

Our plants already run 24/7 365, always have. The one I work at produces paper for baby wipes and medical sheets. Our machines have been sold out for the year since the first of the year. This has nothing to do with covid, they usually are sold out.

We have a septic tank, and I don't use any kind of special paper. Had the tank pumped after 5 years of living here (new house), and it was only half full.

You do have to have hot plumbed to it. BUT(t), think how long it takes the hot water to reach the faucet, it's going to take that long for the hot water to reach the bidet. I've yet to get any hot water to my tucus. I guess if I used the bathroom after a shower, or after getting ready in the morning I would. But that's not my typical routine...
If my wife didn't love being upsold I wouldn't have gotten the hot water option. Your wife/gf will like the Women mode though

Plenty of TP and paper towels at the Reidsville Wally World this morning when I went shopping at Old Folks hour.

Still waiting for clarification on this one.....

Septic systems need TP that are easier to break down than if you were in city sewer and it all gets pumped to a treatment center where it’s all separated out mechanically.

many people don’t know or care to look for the TP that is septic safe.

This usually results in TP that is harder to degrade and can shorten the life span of the system. While you may have to pump your tank more often, it goes much further than that. The liquid and solids are broken down in the tank and flow to the leach field as you use it. Solids float and liquid goes to the leach field. Seems simple enough. But if the solids take longer to break down or the tank gets full quicker, there is not enough time for sufficient breaking down of solids, which sends less treated liquid and some solids to your leach field. When this happens, your leach field essentially gets clogged and vastly shortens the life span of the field.

Cottonelle is septic safe. Amazon Subscribe & Save tried to substitute Quilted Northern, which is not.

Oh I get the idea behind it, I have to take wastewater classes even year. But it's really not a big deal unless you are overloading your septic tank with more users than it was designed for. The bacteria in a standard 1000gal tank can easily chew through decent TP if you only have 4 or so normal users. Add to that the fact that all new tanks in NC are required to have a strainer in the standpipe going to the doctor box and you pretty much don't have to worry about solids migrating. Having a chapped ass is not worth possibly going an extra year in between pump outs
