Where is all the toilet paper and paper towels?

Oh I get the idea behind it, I have to take wastewater classes even year. But it's really not a big deal unless you are overloading your septic tank with more users than it was designed for. The bacteria in a standard 1000gal tank can easily chew through decent TP if you only have 4 or so normal users. Add to that the fact that all new tanks in NC are required to have a strainer in the standpipe going to the doctor box and you pretty much don't have to worry about solids migrating. Having a chapped ass is not worth possibly going an extra year in between pump outs

Right, but most strainers get clogged and then flow over the top and send solids to your leach field. And unless it was built in the last 10 years, the strainer is either concrete (which has deteriorated ) or non existent. So older tanks are affected more and are much more sensitive to septic specific TP.

Google septic tank safe TP
We've been using WTFever is on sale and isn't cheap crap for 18 years of living on a septic... including Quilted Northern. Last year I finally had the tank drained after doing nothing for the 8 years we'd owned the home, just b/c I figured it was time to check it out.
I asked dude about the TP vs poop fill etc, he said we were nowehere close to being in trouble and it probably coulda gone a lot longer. Never use RidX or any other shit either.

I'm sure that using the wrong kind of absorbant paper that dosn't deteriorate is a problem... I'm just not seeing it.
That's my one bit of 100% anecdotal, non-scientific evidence, and I'm sticking by it!

The strainer should cover both sides of the outlet tee. And anything made in this century probably has a PVC outlet tee (assuming it's not concrete) anyway.

Rob covered it. I just gave a non-combative answer to obvious bait. Plus, was in the car headed to a job meeting then underground inspection of a grease trap...

This has turned in to a shitty thread...

if you REALLY wanna know what smells worse than a septic tank....open a 2500 gallon one of THOSE up

Ha..well played sir...a tip of the cap. But apparently I didn’t know what a Huggies 360 was, and it’s more of a pull up type, which isn’t really conducive changing a shitty diaper...on myself or otherwise.

I went by Lowes Foods and Food Lion today hunting TP and PT. The shelves were bare at both stores. WTF!
