Oh I get the idea behind it, I have to take wastewater classes even year. But it's really not a big deal unless you are overloading your septic tank with more users than it was designed for. The bacteria in a standard 1000gal tank can easily chew through decent TP if you only have 4 or so normal users. Add to that the fact that all new tanks in NC are required to have a strainer in the standpipe going to the doctor box and you pretty much don't have to worry about solids migrating. Having a chapped ass is not worth possibly going an extra year in between pump outs
Right, but most strainers get clogged and then flow over the top and send solids to your leach field. And unless it was built in the last 10 years, the strainer is either concrete (which has deteriorated ) or non existent. So older tanks are affected more and are much more sensitive to septic specific TP.
