So, is anyone prepping for the winter storm on the way? I have closed the plant for tomorrow ( will probably bite me in the ass trying to second guess mother nature) firing up the generator this evening to make sure it starts, filling up the Chief with gas, the truck is full of diesel, have bacon, eggs, and plenty of beer. Should be good to go!

We bought a cow, a field, and a grain mill. Hoping to capitalize on the milk sammiches.

I called into work and took the night off. Gotta love PTO. Of course as the unwritten rule goes, the Jeep is broke like always for the first snow of the year. Guess I'll see how the Cummins does.

In the basement, two large shelves loaded with canned goods, chest freezer full of meat, vegetables and fruit, fuel tank for backup heat is topped off, generator is full, plus 20 gallons extra gasoline. All vehicles filled up. Even have bread & milk! :D

I stacked firewood on the porch and filled the garage with some to keep it dry. Jeep is gassed up. Just gotta air up the tires but that will wait till in the morning

Kerosene heater filled up, got 5 gallons extra. Got plenty of food, camping stove and grill with propane. Jeep full of gas, although I barley have 4x4 due to either a blown out locker or stretched chain. It works long as it's not under a load.

I'm ready, bring it on!

Did a little splitting today. Got plenty for wood stove just in case I loose the fuel oil furnace. Gotta work all weekend so i got the chainsaw in truck for those early morning road hazzards.

I got a pack of Girl Scout cookies from my boss, put a flat shovel on the porch near the door, and looked at the gas guage on the Tacoma (1/8 tank). Smh.

I also have 21 Christmas trees piled up for defrosting whatever it is that needs defrosting :D

I'm more concerned about having never driven with a front locker in snow/ice, than I am about food. I keep enough junk food around to survive for a few days, got the dog a fresh bag of food the other week if it gets that bad.

All the vehicles that CAN make it in the snow are full of fuel. 2.5 gallons of milk, 2 dozen eggs, 3 loaves of bread for milk sammichs. Always have 50+gal of drinking water, and 6 weeks of mountain house meals. Along with meats and plenty of groceries. I went this am to the grocery store before work to beat the bandwagon panic crowds. Just gotta dig the sleds out of the crawlspace in the am

Jeep is fuel up, 2 jackets and a blanket with bottle waters and my food bag. Recovery gear and extra boots also. I will run the 911 operators and ems crews around.

At the house i have the camper set up and heat on, all bath tubs filled with water, and 5 gallons of gas for the generators for the camper.... (Boys will have to poop in the cold house if the power goes out, while i stay warm in the camper)!

What you talking about? I gotta work tomorrow! @1983Bronco is a slave driver! HMMWV is fueled up, generator for the house is fueled up with 10 gallons extra in jugs, now I just have to go get some windshield wiper blades for the Hmmwv, because between those and the crappy defrost I MIGHT be able to see...

Got the beer and some groceries to feed a family cooking on a wood stove. Plenty of firewood in the porch.

Im really just hoping there is enough snow to ride around in the cruiser and not get ticketed. A tubed out rig w no tag has got to be safer than No Helmet Bobby on a 4 Wheeler.

No milk in the house, ate the last of the bread this morning. Just dropped in the grocery store and picked up 30 more fun beverages. We're off for the next 3 days not worried about anything really. Just wondering how many trees I'm going to have to cut up this time and crossing my fingers none fall on the house or a vehicle.

Food, yup, beer, yup, gas, yup, firewood, yup and planning to stay the hell off the roads for the next few days. Not worried about my driving but all the other idiots out there

lol all night I've been hearing my neighbors cranking up their generators to test 'em.
We're predicted for 18-24 inches. Should be fun.

Me? I figured I'd at least swap the offroad, decent-traction tires off of the non-mobile 4Runner and onto the old beater truck so I can get around slightly better.
Don't own a generator, so I borrowed a couple of large-cap UPSs from work to recharge phones and keep a router going a while.

Motorhome is full of fuel, genset is ready jic.
Bought 2 cases of beer, dog food and a pack of Marlboros.
And got a shit ton of chili cheese dip in a crock pot to sustain us in times of need!
