WTF halp!!!!! Huge Dealership Problem...

they should at least give you KBB for it, if not retail, private party price. Cost of the vehicle is different depending on what side of the fence you are standing on. YOUR cost ($$$ paid for vehicle) is irrelevant to the value of the vehicle. Their cost is what yours would trade it in for or private party sell it for. You should at least get KBB trade-in for it (assuming you paid less for it).

A lack of planning on their part does not necessairly equate to an emergency on your part.

don't go overboard, but make sure you have enough $$$ to cover the cost of another vehicle. Remember, what you paid+registration+taxes+accessories+time+maintenance+interest+1000= minimum amount received back to you.

$ Back + Expenses + $1000.00 sounds pretty Fair to Me.

I'm in agreement with this - but make sure that it includes ALL expenses - as mentioned above, regsistration fees, title fees, EVERYTHING it cost you to get the vehicle in the 1st place.

Well truth of the matter be told I bought the vehicle for alil less than 5k out the door and have put upwards of a G after I've totaled it all up. So basically I ran the kbb and its around 9k. So If I take this I'm going to end up hosed and getting a lesser vehicle is where my prob is. Maybe I'm just being an a hole about it all but I got a steal on car and got used to a nicer vehicle in the driveway. Not sure I particularly want to trade down. The market is insane right now b/c people are blowing tax money like crazy imho and it seems prices are high as crap where as when I bought this everyone was broke haha

If something sounds too good to be true;...

I have to wonder why they sold it so cheap.

I think if you paid 5,000 + 1,000 for upgrades + 1,000 earnest money for mistake + time (lets say you have 40 hours invested in this search at $50/hr) I dont thinkyou are far off from a 9,000 offer.

I think you could force them to finds you a comparable vehicle. You didnt mention mileage or I missed it but a quick cars.com search reveals 20 within 25 miles of raleigh for <9k.

Just find one you want for a near price, bring them the ad and say buy me this and we will trade.

yea mine only had 90k on it. I'm only finding 2 limited's within 25 miles and only 1 under 100k miles. What site are you using?

I bought it shortly after xmas when the economy was even worse as far as people having $ and people thought the world was ending. Plus flashing 5k in cash seemed to work out pretty well. I really enjoyed this too. He was supposed to drop a loaner by tonight at 8. Showed up at 9:30 w/o a ride back for himself and when I told him my kids were in bed he took the loaner back haha. BRILLIANT! I was def going to drive him 45min down the road at 9:30 at night and then go 45 min back home. Then told me he couldn't get the title b/c it was an out of state problem. His jaw dropped when I pulled out the autocheck and showed the car has never left nc. :shaking:

Sounds like the dealership just flat out lies. Lies catch up to you.....with this they may learn....or not...

Id pull no punches. They have wasted your time and money....have the make it worth your while.

I almost wonder if they are specifically pursuing this just to get the Jeep back - having serious seller's remorse... they;re thinking they took a major loss on that Jeep and if they could get it back, maybe could recover it.
While the guy was at your house, you should have just said "Well I'll call you a cab. That's what I have to do since I can't drive the car you sold me." I owuldn't have let him leave w/ that loaner.
Showing up 1.hrs late is just unprofessional.

I think this is a fellow NC4x4er actually

http://greensboro.craigslist.org/cto/1083826805.html

miles might be a bit higher / tell them that is what you want to be able to buy...

http://greensboro.craigslist.org/cto/1076758515.html

Just hit up craigslist with your cash

But I would get rid of these guys.. 5k + 1k expenses + 500 for registration costs (for the old vehicle plus whatever you buy) + 1000 for your time is 7500 in cash...

But I would get the heck away from them / sign the vehicle back to them for 7500+ and run away

Just dropped off the loaner which actually works out great b/c I can stash my jeep away in our warehouse locked up until this is settled. Wish they had anything on their lot that Id actually drive daily. Everything is either smaller, a 2d, or a gas hog. I've just started throwing him 50 emails a day of possible replacements all better of course.

Oh and I'll go ahead and share since they are sucking at life right now. The dealership is AMG auto sales in raleigh. Just dropped me off a 2001 sahara with a shot clutch haahahahahahahahhahaha and 2 razor blades in the front seat for my kids to play with. JESUS!

Hey man I know most of this has been covered, but as a dealer I know the ropes better than most. To me it looks like you have a few options. However the first thing you need to do is call DMV dealer enforcement, not the tag office and not the drivers license office they are totally different

Call 919-715-7000‎ and ask for dealer enforcement. Once you have filed a complaint the dealership will shit there pants, not delivering titles is the #1 reason for revoking a dealer license. Trust me once you file a complaint with an actual DMV enforcement officer the dealership will do whatever it takes to resolve this. If you don't file a complaint you are risking not getting anything back, regardless of what B.S. the dealer is feeding you. FILE A COMPLAINT NOW DON'T WAIT. The dealer has ten days to deliver the paperwork to the license plate office if there is a lien, if no lien it should be done within 20 days. Technically you are driving it illegally because the tag was never transferred because the dealer never went to the DMV with the tiltle.

Not sure if this is relevant, but in some cases if a dealer misrepresents a car, say its salvage and they failed to reveal that when they knew it, the customer can be awarded up to three times the purchase price of said vehicle, you can ask the DMV officer if this applies in your case. The $1000 extra he was offering you was just his profit on the car, so he is not really losing anything by buying the car back +1000. As stated before they had to post a $50,000 bond when they got there license, so even if they are broke, you can still get your money back. If they fucked you once they will do it again, do you really trust them to get you another ride, I wouldn't. CAll me if you have any questions @ 336-817-7289, I'll be happy to help you. BUT TRUST ME CALL DMV ENFORCEMENT IMMEADIATELY!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck!!!

sounds like the best advice from someone that knows.

Dude just told me to blow him and that hes going out of business and to have my lawyer contact his. LOVELY!:flipoff2:

Well now it's definitely time to call the dealer enforcement folks mentioned above *right this minute*

And as said before... his bonding company should refund you... then they'll go after him...

Sounds like a sucky situation though that's bound to only get worse/drawn out/ before it gets better.

I'd call before he packs up shop and is gone...

sorry man, he probably floorplanned the jeep through a finance company, in theory he's supposed to pay the finance company of with your money to get the title, in reality he used your money for something else and probably just kept trying to stall you, call DMV enforcement before its too late!!!!

Dude just told me to blow him and that hes going out of business and to have my lawyer contact his. LOVELY!

Tell him you want that 350z on their website. At least then you'll have something you can sell and recoup your money. What does he care if they're really going out of business anyway?

p.s., that place looks like they specialize in overpriced high mileage junk. Not sure how you found a decent ride there in the first place.

Should have jumped on the $1000 IMO, no matter what "you" thought the jeep was worth.

Just picked up an 02 grand limited with 78k from them and a check for more than was offered before. Not a huge fan of the black interior but I'll live haha. Blend door is shot on it but don't think I'll be caring for about 7 months. Other than that its not in bad cond except for a wheel bearing. Looks like everything turned out ok. Found out some shady details about the dealership. Everyone needs to keep their asses away from this place.

:driver:

Title?? And I would take the check to the bank it is drawn on and cash it 1st thing Monday. (If you deposit it / he could later deny / stop check, etc) Once you walk out of HIS bank with the cash you are golden...well once you get a title in hand)

Check was cashed this morning (god bless walkallovaya). I ran an autocheck on it and have seen the title so hopefully this will not be a repeat issue. Turned out my car was sold to me by buena vista auto in amg autos office. When I asked about it before I was told that it was the name of the overall company. Turns out that their "salesman" had his license and was buddies with the owner and was trying to help him "get back on his feet". Ended up the owner of amg was not too happy when "my lawyer aka a family member who is a dealer lol" and threatened to drag both of them into court. Hopefully no more issues and this thing will run great for awhile. Thanks to everyone for the help/ideas.
