Your do Everything Rescue Vehicle

I’m pretty sure I’d stick with my current rig.
‘98 doodge 12 valve/ 5 speed. Bigger compressor wheel and marine injectors but overall stock (parts everywhere!)
D80 with posi rear
Ford KP D60 with posi front
Leafs on all 4 corners dodge rear ford front (simple and no death wobble)
37x12.50x17 toyo MT on steel “d-windows”
Not fancy but runs, decent mileage, just plain works. Oh and the AC system poops out ice cubes from the dash vents.

I would just use my Frontier. The 37s, tons, and portals get me most everywhere I want to go on the trail so in a disaster situation it should do okay. It weighs as much as a 3/4 ton truck (6200#) so it usually stays put during recoveries; has two batteries, two winches, 19 gallon aux fuel tank, large-ish onboard inverter, onboard air, double-beadlocks, etc. The stock engine does not make a ton of power but then I can service it with parts from anywhere since it is not modified.

I'm gonna go far out on a limb here, and probably no one will agree with me.

I like the Excursion. Had a 7.3 one, looking for a V10 one now. In a normal bug-out situation, martial law type thing, this is my choice. Of course with bumpers, winches, tires, and lockers. Would also mount dual batteries under the hood, and ad an inverter, or have a small generator.

My apocalyptic, EMP destroys the world, bust out to the wilderness choice is gonna be a strange one. Either a 70's or 80's 4x4 swapped van with a big block and points/condenser ignition and a manual transmission, or 4bt for simplicity and ease of fitment. Definitely have bumpers, lockers, and winches.

Ultimate build would be an Excursion with a carbed big block and manual swapped in, D60 front, portals for ground clearance, and 44's. With solar array on the roof, custom off-road trailer for food, tools, spare tire, spare parts.

Can’t remember who but there was an Excursion built. Might be those Mid and Blood guys. Thinking it was on 37’s or 40’s. Was a sweet rig.

We need details on the build.

We haven’t made many plans yet… except for the “FRECNDY” vanity plate. :D

It’s almost road worthy, just need to sort out some sticking brakes, get the lights working, probably some rear shocks, and bolt down the plush captains chairs.

Might see if we can make some patch panels out of the GMC Savana van I haven’t gotten around to scrapping yet.

A Team paint job, right?

Power Wagon fits the bill. Now on 37s

You’ll need something big enough for your family... ✅
huge fuel tank... big enough and can add aux or cans
ground clearance for water crossing and crawling terrain ✅
enough power and room to haul supplies ✅ something strong enough to winch trees out of the way ✅

As much as I love diesels, the weight is just too much of a burden for mobility, so a gas is probably a better choice in a SHTF situation.
