your first car/truck

1970 Triumph GT6+, strait six, triple weber sidedrafts, i was only 14 :flipoff2:

Chip, pretty pimp you bought a new car for your fisrt in 72. Wish I were that lucky. haha

'70 VW Beetle (big jugs, Bugpack intake, Holley/Weber 2V, 09dist, blue coil, Monza exh., etc, etc...)

In 1978, $5/week would fill the tank and buy a carton of smokes... Was great since I only cleared $20/week working part-time :flipoff2:

65 Mustang Coupe
Bought it had "Sprint" 200-I6, and a 3 speed with non-synchroed 1st...
Floors made of sheets our of a printing press (when we cut them out years later you could still read the Rose's ads "Look Levi's for 8.99")

Still have it.
200 gone, 351w/427 FI, T56 ...currently in shop getting prepped to paint.
As far as I can tell the only part on the car I havent replaced is the firewall, and it has holes...

'75 Ford Maverick 4dr, 250 I6 low geared POS, if it rained hard it would try to start itself sitting in the driveway.

the dog box rusted out, would change lanes without notice, was parted out suppplying disc brakes to a 65 mustang and the engine/trans went into a 70 mustang notchback.

'86 Broco II - Black w/Red interior - 4X4 - 5 speed

Original owner bought it in West Virginia and left 2hi and 4hi alone but changed out 4lo. That beast would top out at 5 miles an hour in 4lo but it would crawl over anything in it's way.

Second vehicle;

'88 Bronco II

Basically a twin of my '86 except the gears were stock and it had a silver lower body. (two tone black/silver)

'69 Jeepster Commando. Got it when I was 14. Drove offroad only until I was 16 and got my license.
I'm on my 3rd driver now but have owned/parted out/sold about 20 of them.

1985 dodge 600 convertible. my dad gave it to my mom for christmas of 1984. 2.2/auto. pure 80's hotness.:flipoff2:

i got it in 1996 and it was in excellent condition with only about 50k miles. it was always a cursed car though. numerous mechanical failures, it had been in two fairly major accidents, and had the top slashed twice from people breaking in (once with the doors unlocked).

a few months after it became mine, it threw a rod out of the oil pan on the way to the body shop to get it fixed from being scraped in a parking lot. ended up selling it to the body shop owner and he was going to part it out/scrap it.

oddly enough, i saw it about 5 years later parked in front of a building at the apartment complex i was living at. the owner happened to walk out while i was looking at it, and said he had bought it from the son of the body shop owner who ended up putting a used motor back in it.

1982 Pontiac T1000
My BIL had an 82 T100... then he bought a Chevette.
We always joked about putting a BBC in a Chevette/T100 just for a joke and some super quiet mufflers to fawk with some of the 5./0 boys....

Damn...Good memory, Thanks Mike...

:beer:Bubba RIP

1960 Ford Fairlane! $75.00

'74 Caddy Eldorado convertable. That was going to high school back in '78-80. 500TBI. Still around town, I wanna buy it back whenever I see it. Haven't had the money when it's been available, though.

After that, a '72 Pontiac Grand Prix, 400sb. Then a '77 Cordoba (ugly, but handled great)

It was my very first car and what started me on this path of motor mayhem. I bought it with a poped motor. Bought a $10 haynes book and and bought a donor car with a good motor... Barrowed an engine crane. I had no clue what I was doing but I figured it out.. Had 2-3 other 'vettes' after that one.. Pretty dam solid cars for what they were..

Remember having stalling out on this one hill after we ditched school and were out riding around.. Only had 1/4 tank and 4 people in the car... We'd get half way up car would die... Rool back down tried it again... Last try was with a little more speed...

Reminds me of the $30 vette... Drove it home, no tags.. , on the way decided to take a short cut along the river on the abandoned RR tracks.. Ended up jumping a dirt pile with the car, blowing the radiator and driving it straight to the JY, left title on the dash and went home... Best $30 spent in some time... Good memories = priceless...

oh ya.... latter on had a different chevette ended up selling it to my brother, he drive it a while, even flat towed a Eldorado with it.. Pulled the 500 out of the eldo then hauled the engine in the back back home... poor little car...
