That's basically what I wanted to do after graduating college and why I bought land and cleared and built my garage apartment (but not near as solo or manual as this dude)

And precisely why I'm actively hunting for land near one of many river systems around SC in some pretty desolate areas. It won't be easy to do. Nor will it be cheap, but, I'm craving it something awful. Lifelong bucket list item for me is to build a house as primitively as possible so long as I can find the loopholes.

The biggest question I have is.... How much would THAT cost to build? I'd love to get into forging, but I doubt I could even afford the bar-stock material to start with.
I'm certain that vid was several weeks of elapsed time. The amount of work and skill put into that one sword is insane. If it was me, I wouldn't part with it for less than $10k.
