average commute

30mile/45min each way.. I go from Wake Forest, north of Raleigh and scoot across to N. Durham (near I85) I don't mind it as my job is stressful and it give me time to unwind. But i do agree with the comments about your value/time.

On the flip side, at work, we tend to abuse the people that only live 5min away sometimes :) hey can you run in and do this.....

about 40 minutes..

depends on if I'm picking up kids from Daycares. direct Office to house. 18 miles about 20 minutes. picking up kid #1 adds 5 miles and 15 minutes. adding kid #2, adds 8 miles and another 15 minutes.

10 min, including stop lights
Hell, some mornings it that much time to get onto Captial Blvd! And I can see it from my bathroom! My commute is 35-40 min to go 22 miles. It sux a$$. Someone convince my wife to move to a place where there isn't a stoplight for 50 miles! I hate them #%$@ Motherf$#@%& things!

500-1000 a week, depending on work schedule-I service equipment at hotels so I go to Rocky Mount, Greenville, Pinehurst, Wilmington and Myrtle Beach.
Time with family is the biggie...
BTW, hi all, newb here...

85 miles one way. Tip, get someone to car-pool with that doesn't snore.

About a mile and a half. Wife's is two blocks farther.

1 hour twice a day = 2 hours
5 ways a week = 10 hours
50 weeks a year = 500 hours/year
500 hours / 8 hour day = 62.5 days per year without pay

this was me last year, man did that suck.. the winter time especially. I recently got a new job that cut my commute by more than half and the hours are 10x better(7-3:30), its like getting out of school. :bounce:

14 miles
22-27 minutes

I wouldn't want to drive more than an additional 5 minutes. I am already losing almost an hour of my day.

I would LOVE to have that work schedule!

Yeah, now multiply that 500 hours by your billable rate.

I commute an hour one way and that is to get to school. ie. no pay. Nothing like 2 hours on the road a day, so figure 400 a month in gas just to get to school which you have to pay for. Hopefully this will end in august when my commute will be cut to 1 mile.

3 miles to work each way, saving a crap load of gas, but my rent is more than living on the other side of town. Kind of evens out.

Going in is 12 miles...

- 30 minutes if all highway (if you can call US52 a highway... more like a parking lot!)...

- 15/20 minutes if I do the first few miles on 52 and jump off on Patterson straight downtown to the hole... I mean "orfice"

Going home is about 5 miles more... I go 1 exit further to miss the cluster fawk at Hanes Mill

- 10/15 minutes average

Add anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours depending on:

- Rain (or other precip)
- cop has someone pulled over :shaking:
- light fender benders

and might as well turn around if there's a major wreck, cause the 9 billion hillbilly's coming south outta Stokes county will have the "back roads" clustered!

25 miles. 35 minutes. one way.

For future reference, I think it's about 15 minutes too long for me. I got spoiled by ~10 years of living 6 miles/10 minutes from work.

Wife drives 45 miles one way which is better than the 72 she was driving. Takes her an hour. I drive 22 miles one way and it takes me 45 minutes with traffic and 35 without.
