free roll cage material

Just please don't sell it
cmon man really lol lol. welding wire is something I can't have enough of...look at my whole jeep...i bet it has over 100lb of welding wire into it HAHAHA i'm serious though

Wish those plates would show up already....yall got me so nervous...no lie..today i welded one piece onto my roll cage and had to pause...weld...pause then weld. Freaking brain was malfunctioning due to overload of so much "technicalities" spoken about welding on here and technique, had me freaking second guessing myself...WHAT THE HELL is what I was thinking to myself lol...then I just plain old welded without thinking and back to norm.
First time in over 5/6yrs that I've had to actually "think" about my welding...look what yall done:shaking:

Speaking of ECORS, is it still around? Website shows next race as October 2015

Must not have been the race at callalantee I know I seen this thing in Mt City bc I snapped a pic of craftsmanship and driver! Good stuff none the less

I Can't believe I watched this, but Hey! I've never seen it before. And I hope I Never see it Again!!!!!!!!!!!
i only skimmed it and it was pretty weird and weird from what 30seconds i saw...but i get it everyone sees me as the guy who just won't go away..ha ha ha

I watched that video as a kid on MTV (before it was full of douchebagger flat biller tools) or something like that. I posted it after the song popped into my head somehow while reading this thread. Posted out of humor not malice. You will see some serious stuff on the internets

So you served in Korea? What branch? And base?
back Aug. 99 to Nov 00 US Army 95 Bravo(MP), For Leonardwood Missoury then Pusan, Korea for rest of time...then i left. don't ask, long story

As well for your machine, you should be multipass welding nearly everything .188" and thicker, depending on the joint.

I see single pass welds with no post cleanup and inspection.
well dang holy crap..PLEASE don't take this as ego but IF you're telling me all these years I've been welding everything wrong with only one pass and God's Honest truth haven't had one fail ever,....holy crap I must be better at welding than I and You think OR there isn't nearly as much stress on welds on DD vehicles and even my off road jeep as most would state, i guess. I've only double passed 3/8thick stuff when it was bumper brackets or something else (I've avoided that thick stuff so not really used anything over 1/4 for 95%of my stuff. I was not aware that everything above .188 should be double....again NO ego here but just sayin, that should give a guy little more credit who taught himself how to weld and all he's ever known/done is single pass welds.
Oh and the "testing" stuff....never claimed to know anything about it...was just being silly but honest asking if a 36ton machine was enough. Well I'm sure you and most will now think I'm even more "dangerous with my rig" since everything is single pass, but honestly you from teaching the proper school test proven ways to weld have given me little more confidence in my stuff than I had before now knowing what you said. Not being unwilling to learn or ego here...but just pointing out I must be doing some pretty descent welds for all my stuff (especially on my jeep) with only one pass and over year later of wheeling no signs of stress cracks/weaknesses or such in the "big important" pieces welded on to the jeep. thank you for your lesson as i suppose on 1/4 to 5/16 stuff I might consider doing double passes on more crucial places i reckon!!

No. You don't get credit for ignorance.

My guess is that the total weld area was greater than the loads placed on it.

That doesn't mean it's a good weld, just means it hasn't failed yet.

I'm not giving you respect for doing something wrong for many years.

It's your responsibility to learn, and understand the things that you need to know.

Not attacking you but how do you know if your welds are cracking or being stressed if.you don't clean off the coating that flux core leaves over the weld?
because I'm referring to the welds now...i inspect my jeep after every trip out to see how things look, again not a complete moron the way you think. i check my crossmember, my control arms, by links, everything gets inspected and greased after every trip and that is how I believe I have prevented so many possibilities of things happening on the trails.
