dude cmon, i take wire wheel to my welds when i do inspections...these "fresh" welds you guys are talking about on my recently installed axles are fresh and look like crap cause I'm busy packing and stuff and don't have time yet to finish everything...I will go through and clean everything and hope to paint it before April ride.But if the flux slag is still covering the weld how can you tell
you forget I'm not a professional welder so that doesn't apply to me i guess lol lol...that was a joke btw.most professional welders still knock the slag off their welds.
You guys in all seriousness I'm not trying to sound like a pro welder but I'm so comfortable with my welder that I "know" when my weld is good and when it's bad....trust me I've had my share of "off days" where I knew instantly I was going to have to redo/grind/second pass a weld that i just knew instantly sucked...
