So I've been a long time lurker on here. Used to be pretty active on the jeep forums when I owned a couple, then migrated to toyotas and was mostly active on the 4runner and the expedition forums. Decided to finally do a build thread for my Toyota Pickup here since I am going through a pretty extensive rework and build. Decided to call my old Toyota the Badger hence the thread name. Some of you guys that frequent URE might have seen it before, as Ive taken it out there quite a few times. So here are some pictures of what it looked like about a year ago or so:

Mods up to that point included:
-Aussie front locker
-5.29 gears front and rear
-Limited slip rear
-33 Goodyear Wranglers
-Front Longfields
-Winch (at various times)
-Winch Bumper
-4.8 Twinsticked Tcase
-2.5in Old Man Emu Lift

Then this happened about a year ago: Apparently Badger don't like jeeps. I fixed most of the damage, but the truck went from daily duty to a weekend errand runner and URE toy.

Fast forward a year, I graduated college and got a new job. I decided that I would build the old Toy into what I really wanted. So under the knife it went. About a month ago I pulled the truck out of the garage to do some work and clean out the shop. Left to go get some lunch, came back and damn; they done stole all the stuff off my truck. There were nice nough to put the truck on some jackstands though. :D

I used to stare at this truck in the UNCC parking lot. I think I even left a note on it once about buying it with my non existent budget. Dreamers...

Haha I think I remember seeing that note.

It's about time you get a build thread.

Yea I figured now is as good as any time to start a build thread for it. It'll be way different in a couple weeks now that I have somewhat of a disposable income haha.

Nice toy

Smacked a renegade with a 30 day tag  Did they get out ready to kill you?

Considering the girl cut me off in the rain then slammed on the brakes caused the wreck and she weighed probably 100lbs wet, there wasn't much she could have done about it. She was more worried her parents were going to kill her than anything.

Had the same thing happen to me in downtown Winston. Wasn't charged, but neither was she. We were responsible for our own repairs. I never fixed the exploder...and really couldn't tell. Her trailblazer rear bumper and quarters were folded under...had to be towed off.

Anyway...LOVE the bed cover!

Found a bit of rust on the frame. Since I was cutting a lot of the mounts off I was able to fix the rust fairly easily and made it stronger than original. I plated most of the rear. Finished my chevy 63 swapped and got the truck pulled into the garage for a front end tear down.

A bit of rust? Looks like you should have back halfed the truck.

Also Andrew told me you bought those Mastercrafts off the forum, just want you to know if they ever go missing and my Jeep gets new seats it wasn't me.

I actually thought about cutting it and linking it, but I had a bunch of 3/16 plate and angle in the shop. So I cut some side plates and plated the frame back. Also I don't know what you're talking about as far as the seats go.

Or do you mean these seats? :flipoff2: I made some custom brackets and they sit a tad low but fit me really well. I may add some rises and raise them a bit but I'll probably run them as is for a bit.

Front axle was torn out for a rebuild. I sliced off the old dogbone mount, trussed the top of it, pulled the arb air locker out of the rear of my 4runner and decided to stick it in the front of the pickup. Had to order a new seal housing from ECGS. Also got some drilled slotted landcruiser brake rotors and new v6 brake calipers.

Waiting for my ARB seal housing to show up so I ended up adding 2inch risers to the seats last night.

Forgot to update this:

Got the front factory hangers, shock mounts, dogbone mount cut out with the plasma, took a big chunk out of the rad support for the steering box, plated the front frame with reinforcement plates, mounted my front spring hanger, and steering box. Also managed to rebuild my front axle since the parts from ECGS got here,

Got the Badger sitting on all fours. Welded in the shock hoops, and put the fenders back on. Also got my tank and onboard air hookup kit so I can runt he ARB locker.

Sam, for the shake down, CTB is having an optional ride at URE, this Saturday, the 24th. Lets all get together!

Chris already told me about the ride on Saturday, Im planning to try to make that trip, but no guarantees yet. I want to try and make a set of sliders, mount my CB, and air compressor before then.

That's all easy stuff haha. You can make it happen

Well I plan to mount the CB and front bumper light bar later today since parts showed up. Ive already cut the main sections for the sliders. I just need to cap them, weld them on and paint them. I'm still waiting for some valves from Viair which should be here on Wed to get my compressor up and running.

Mounted my aircompressor last night, ran all the wiring for the compressor and locker switch, and tested the solenoids. Still waiting for a couple fittings to finalize the compressor and tidy up the wiring. I'll probably relocate the gauge and switch to the change holder(left pocket in picture)

Finished up a few more items and got a test run in with Carolina Trailblazers. I got part my sliders made and welded on the truck. Mounted my top light bar that I had for ages. Finished up the compressor and mounted my highlift in the bed. As far as the test run went, I found out I need a new front driveshaft lol. My driveshaft was too short and I lost 4wd on the first trail. So theres that.
