Cherocar

I've never used the wj pump. I've used one stock xj pump and one s10 pump. I went to the junkyard and pulled several intake fittings. Then I drilled them out to several different sizes to try them out. 3/16's seemed to work best for my full hydro with a single ended ram.
 
Not much progress lately but...
pump is back on
Orbital mounted
Most of my plumbing is done
Ram is tacked in place
I still haven't decided on how/where to mount the reservoir.

I fired the jeep up last night and cycled the steering. It worked great....just happened to be roughly 10 turns lock to lock. Looks like I'll be buying a new orbital.

I will post pics of how I mounted it tomorrow. I made a bracket and mounted it off a the intake. I hate it and may just burn the whole jeep to the ground.

The struggle is real!! Guess I can’t say much I sold mine and moved back to Toyota’s lol either way I like your XJ. They hold a special place with me.

I'd like to make a new bracket and lower the PS pump. As it sits now.....I'll be cutting a 5" hole in my hood for my reservoir to stick through.
 
New orbital is on and it's 3.5 turns lock to lock. Only a few small things left and it's ready for a shakedown run

There is this little event coming up the week of July 4th. It's called the Crawl and its in Harlan. Great place to show off that xj....... ;)

That's a long haul for a shakedown run! My fix it washers came in the mail today. I'm going to load the jeep up and take it to nc this weekend.

No more SC livin for me.
 
Drove it a little with the full hydro......so much better! I'm hauling the jeep back to the motherland tonight

Bummer on the split living but I have heard Greenville is amazing these days.

T case doubler will probably get put off till the winter.

Yea it was definitely fun. The new full hydro steering will take some getting used to.

It's fun racing against traffic, my foot is in the floor and pops in the nissan sentra is still pulling ahead from a stop light. Definitely get some funny looks from the locals when the exhaust pops :huggy:
