Apple Fritters are the best, and are NOT yeast donuts, therefore the entire thread is now invalidated. I demand a recount with new ballots mailed out to all eligible voters. Probably Russian Hackers involved too.

Donut Life in Hickory is good. A number of different yeast donuts, and some awesome apple fritters.

Grannys Old Fasion Donuts from Taylorsville will kill any diet youre on for certain. They travel around during the week to different locations in the area.
 
Hole latta donuts in West Jefferson (previously mentioned in this post) has an awesome strawberry fritter....Huge, lots of glaze, and relatively moist (despite being purchased 10 mins. Before closing)
 
Cake. Yeast. Who cares? It’s a doughnut. They are all good for their own reasons! :D


there is no comparison between a Duck maple bacon and a KK glazed or other signature doughnut. I like them both but for different reasons.

but, a cake doughnut in the plastic tray from a grocery store is just crap. Even the KK doughnuts in the grocery store are subpar. :(
