Jeep SRT revival

All you lack is a YouTube income stream
And time. Precious time.
My wife tells me all the time I should start a YT channel for gear work projects and such. Truthfully, I don't have the time to deal with it.
If my day gig wasnt so draining, I would for sure.

I can only imagine that filming and editing would double the time it takes to do anything.

Have a few folks I know getting into it and triple to quadruple the time is a regular measurement then editing on top of that. For the one dude I know he is a potato when it comes to this computer editing stuff so the its the balance of who is gonna edit it. His wife can but also works a full time job + the farm. I’d love to figure it out but potato don’t pay the bills lol

No doubt. I've heard a few youtubers I watch state that just the filming doubles the time it takes them to do whatever they are doing. I know absolutely nothing about video editing, but I could see that taking several hours. Therefore, in Jody's case, if he can set up gears in X hours, then I could see it taking him 3X to 4X to do it, film it, edit the footage, then post it.

I can do a JK from start to finish, front and rear, in 2.5 hours. It would likely take me 6 by the time a filmed it all with reshoots and such. Then another 2-3 in editing.
I'll stick to what I do and the Random Pic thread!

Damn, that's fast.
Truth be told, when you've done it so long, you already know what shim thickness you'll need for each diff, based on the brand of gear you're using. I used to keep a notebook to keep track.
Now, I can grab a 0.048" pinion shim for a Motive 4.88 in the back of a JK and nail depth first stab.

I just did like a 3 minute video and took me like 20 minutes to edit. And it was literally like three clips spliced together. And I'm good at editing.

Remember that cool ARP tapered piston ring compressor I was bragging about? It rocks. Centers the rings, piston slides right in every time.
What does an OG style compressor do to a 6.4 Hemi piston?
It costs you $400 🤬

Me and @StretchASU were discussing the level of skoadiness it would be to run one of the good, old, pistons with a new rod? We decided it would be like wiping your butt with a brillo pad. Functional but inappropriate.
Got a new piston on the way.
Selling price just went up $400 🤣🤣🤣

This is why I will randomly text you with a gear setup question every 3 to 5 years :D You could charge a 20 dollar consultation fee and make bank!

I have no clue how many engines I've built. I had the same issue with the 4AGE in my daughters MR2 when installing pistons a few weeks back. Turned the motor over and it didn't feel silky smooth. I couldn't get the scratches out by honing. I ended up sending it back to the machine shop, over boring all the cylinders and a fresh set of .10 over pistons, complete pain in the ass.
