What have you done to your rig today?

Pulled the intake to replace the gaskets after 30 years and screwed up I guess cause now it is leaking oil bad under WOT... also.... talk me out of a 383ci cause this bitch is lacking some HP (not like it jad any to begin with) and a SBC will be easier and less new parts then an LS.

Story of my life. “I should probably replace these old lines/gaskets/etc.” now it’s worse

If it was me I’d just find a bulk oil supplier. Since it’s you, I vote 383!

Had to get back to Uncle Ralph, I've been neglecting him for too long. I got some rear fenders recently and have been sanding through a coat of house paint and grey primer to expose some pretty cool patina. I cleared them today and installed plus fired him up for the first time in a good while. I rebuilt brakes recently too so am waiting for them to bleed themselves so I can drive him.

Tow rig got all the fluids changed today. Hit 60k trouble free miles recently and decided to give it a proper service. It's had nearly 20k miles with my gooseneck behind it.
Fluids looked good, transmission was definitely ready to be serviced.
These have no dipstick and are a case fill with a standpipe in the pan to correct fluid level. Bought a $30 12V fluid pump to refill it. Saved nearly $300 by doing just the transmission myself.
Ready for another 60k

Put in some work last night on my K2500; I guess at this point it's a "mild restoration" since I'm in this deep
Started gutting the interior to deep clean, paint, and put in sound deadening

I didn't really clean this thing up before I parked it; I think October 2025 was the last time I drove it? Yuck
Pulled out the battery tray to repaint it before I slam the charging system back together.
It's pretty nasty looking and as I was doing that I started thinking about pulling the inner fenders out to free up some room, there's a broken exhaust bolt on the passenger side and since I've got headers to install the extra room would be nice

I'll probably wait until I start working on the suspension to do all that since I'd be right at it anyway
Deep cleaning the interior and getting everything freshened up shouldn't take too long, but the carpet is what is going to be a challenge.
Hopefully with enough heavy duty upholstery cleaners, passes with shop vac, the pressure washer, and carpet cleaner with some liberal application of elbow grease will bring it back?
