who's shop is it sitting at? I havent seen it or justin in a few years? its looking good!
 
Nice to see Justin is getting something done, all I have heard for several years is through Jason,Kenneth, and Jeremie. Hadn't seen Justin in a long time. My Jeep was nearly stock the last time I wheeled with him! Which reminds me, tell him he can send me some funds for the axle he got from me once! LOL
 
So with the cantilever system are you saying that a 12" air shock 2:1 is going to give 24" of travel or am I missing something?? Also is the tire going to hit any of the cantilever linkage when flexed or at full lock? I'm still trying to figure out how air can give any dampening what so ever.
Its seems like a great idea and I love seeing something new, just a little confused. I like the grill by the way :flipoff2:
 
different.. I like it. Tell him to give me a shout if he needs any info/help on that Benz motor. He chose the most durable motor they've ever built, nice choice. I can tell you/him about anything ever needed to be known about one and have piles of spare parts for them. Should be interesting to see the incooler set up on the turbo as Mercedes never built any with one.
 
So basically when the spring senses weight being distributed to it will want to right its self by adding more air to the spring, Which results in leveling the jeep.
Nice looking work for sure, but that first sentence has me a little confused.... I can't imagine how a system like this could work with only pressure sensors. That may be fine for climbing and decendng hills, but just imagine what a loading-only response would be when you drove it up an RTI ramp for example.
Seems like you would need suspension travel sensors and chassis pitch sensors to factor in.
I will get some video of it in the shop cycling though the suspension, Just to give you guys an idea of how much this thing will flex.
We did the ol fork lift test and it was impressive.
Does it ride any higher when its running?, or is most of the suspension travel droop?....because it looks like it might only have ~6" of uptravel from the shop pics.

Its a Air Spring built by him With a 12'' stroke.

He will clear it up.

I will have him answer some questions, I just can't answer.
 
How are the air shocks valved? Any pictures of the internals? That's a badass rig, and I love scramblers...but why the liberty front clip?!

Its dampening is done by a monitoring of the rate at which the shock travels in a positive and negative direction. air still compresses in a captured cylinder till it reaches its the point in which it reaches the maximum load and starts to rebound. Hope this helps a little I cant give out all of the secrets until I finish it.
 
don't think i'm bashing mogs.
mogs are great if used corectly or if he wants to dump loads of $$$ in them
the cool thing bout mogs is you don't need big tires to get good clearance

This is burpletruck I am the one building Heavily MOGified. I am sorry for the confusion my fault for not being clear when I describe something. (wife hates when I do that). The system is not pressure sensitive it does not use pressure switches it uses input from airspring position and rate(or time/distance traveled) ie. if you were to jump the vehicle off of a sand dune and the springs were all extended at the same time the controller would know the position of all of the springs and as you come back in contact with the ground the rate at which the springs compressed would be what determined how much air and at what rate. same as if the vehicle was sitting at a camp sight and you stepped up into it it would react much slower and the output would be the opposite. Hope that helps out. dont want to give all of the info in fear that it might jeoperdize my future. as for the travel it is adjustable with no difference in spring rate.

Awsome! would love some info on the injectors on the motor. I was told I would have to change cam lift to get more performance out of the the injection system. Is the Bosch p-pump similar to that of an older cummins?

Don't confuse the 404 portal axle with the real big ones like the 406/416 or u1000/u1300. You're right though, the larger versions are spendier. The 1300 would laugh at an ouverson'd rockwell.
The 404 is on par with a non-chromo 35 spline 60 though.


Can we get some more pictures though?? How about the control panel and "brains" of the suspension setup? Have you looked at how airrock controlled theirs?
