IDK, you think the competition will be able to handle your driving style? :driver:

***non 4x4cross related comment***

you mean there will actually be trophies this year, I was just surprised my prize money check didn't bounce. I couldn't believe they did not have trophies last year, anyway I'm glad to hear that the people who actually care about the sport and not just about money will be running the show. Can't wait:beer:

Idk on the trophies, but i def want to have em, thanks thou for the support man, we're gonna do everything we can to make this event awesome for everyone, and improve where we can from last year :driver:

btw people, don't be afraid to voice idea's and opinions on what you wanna see for the events, I have been calling some select people I know that have experience in various types of 4wheelin events and getting some good ideas, writing everything down

I like the idea of a burnout contest and a flat track tire drag contest, like a big loader tire see who can drag it x distance the fastest . . . that way we can engage the diesel/pulling crowd as well as the mud/rock/trail crowds with this event

Like I said we want fun for everyone, so if you got a good idea let us know :driver::Rockon::burnout:

safety

Dont forget that little girl that got hurt when the yahoos were trying to unstick that chevy from the mudpit. Too many people around, not supervised and unsafe- they pulled everything off that truck that they could strap a chain to. It was bad, but could have been worse. The is the only thing that I could see would be better. As vounteers on the race course, we had pretty good authority backed by rangers to stop unsafe activity. We need that pretty much everywhere. Folks with radios to handle those that get out of hand. The mud crowd could have used this. Maybe a dozer or something more predictable to pull folks. When the chains broke, the towee sent chains flying and the tow-er launched off the back of the berm into the crowd. Everybody that knows anything about wheeling knows that sometimes mud-stuck trucks stick worse when the suction holds them in. Hence the dozer idea.

My vote is to give to boot a little quicker to some of the woo-hoo people, you know the ones that don't know when enogh is ebough....

Yea were already getting that in the planning, we had a very successful group of security at the Derby and one of the Mud races that we're thinking about using again, they have a very imposing presence that seems to keep the crowd suppressed very well.

I had a blast last year. let me know if you need any help... I would like to request a better check point:rolleyes:

Thanks for the support man, pm me your contact email addy, also clarify for me in that pm what you mean about the checkpoint, preciate it man :driver:

I dont know how many people on here ride bikes but Myrtle Beach bike week is May 8th-17th. I dont know if that will hurt the crowd or not.

I'm in again. But I think 3.5 mi might be a little long, just thinking back on last year and all of the broken down rigs in the woods and hours of waiting.

It will be different, simply due to more accessability to the track. It will not be in the forest, instead a cool track is being built on farmland around the uwharrie stables property. More folks will be able to see. Rigs are still gonna break down, but it will be faster and easier to move them and keep on racing.

The race corse it's self is part of the race and skill & finesse keeps you from breaking down. no skill = no finish line. you got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to hit the gas:driver: and when to hit the breaks...

lol

Will the 4x4cross trail,be doable in a smaller rig, like the last race was?
don't forget my question:flipoff2:
I think alot of went on last race would of been different if the course was 2 laps instead of one,the times would of been slower, but people that like their rigs(the ones running at the end) would of faired better,I even wheeled mine the next day and 20 times since then.........of course it's now in pcs in the yard.......3 weeks to get it back together.
A longer course with making sure your rig will stay together is ideal.

Just my .02..............and I still have .02 for now:lol:

yea sorry, were aiming towards having the same classes again, havn't gotten to determining them for sure yet thou.

that's what I thought! Nice. We talked about making a course around the stables. :driver:
Good deal guys. I'm in for a checkpoint again as long as my schedule works out those days.

Also - when we need to DQ someone or supervise a stuck vehicle for safety concerns, it may help to have some authority... somehow. I rmbr hearing on the radios some yahoos bucking a checkpoints' demands to stop racing. I did not have that issue where I was as I only had I think 4 crashes near me.

Also a clear finish line with PLENTY of room for the driver to slow down around other rigs was an issue at rocky mt. Don't want it to be an issue here.

How about a tug of war??? dyno challenge.... since we have mentioned just about every other kind of wheeling how about this one.

Are there going to be different classes for the truck show like trophy truck, show truck, rock crawler, expedition truck, ugly truck

IDK, the truck show is one of the hypotheticals but if we have it im sure itll be multi classes

tug of war like grudge pulling? Already mentioned that if so, but im likin the big tire pull since all the pulling we can do will be on dirt.

I think I might be in again. Lord knows I can't do any worse than I did last year (hit a tree about 40 sec into it). :wheel: Are we going to be given a chance to run the track before race day???:driver:

There will be far fewer trees to hit this year..lol, but we hope to have a demanding track that will offer up different ways to get into trouble.

We are going to have a few different ideas going on this year that will, hopefully make the entire weekend fun for all.

***copied from poll thread***

To those asking about the camping, fees and whatnot, it has been discussed but until were ready to release the info were not saying. I am your sole contact for that info, Johnny and Jackie are purposely not gonna be posting at all on here in an effort to avoid the cluster explicative that happened on the forum last year when you'd hear one thing from me, another from Sean, etc, etc.

Obviously you are all to much of sissy's (I have been purposely trying not to cuss anymore since i got outta college, it makes me seem dumb when i talk but bear with me) to run side by side.

but yea, all info from the event will be going throu me and will be posted when Johnny and I see fit to do so, most of it has been discussed but we are not ready to release it yet.

However here is a cool lil map of the stables and kinda how it will be setup for yall to get an idea, I will also post it in the event thread. But once again this thread is not for the event details it is simply the poll.

On the track there would be open areas for passing and other area that are too skinny lil bit of both, most of the track is already pushed out, it just needs the hills/holes/logs/etc added to make it more interesting.
