2nd Annual Uwharrie 4x4cross Jamboree - May '09

Date of event?

Just a thought for the night stuff. The weekend of the 16th & 17th is a quarter moon. One week earler is a full moon. The extra light makes it safer for all. Except for the vampires and warewolves.

Weekend before will also be exam week for many colleges, that will hurt attendance. Races are during the day anyway, right?

glad to see this is still going on:driver:

any ideas on classes yet?I know 5 months away.....but that gives more time for smack talk:popcorn:

I'm looking forward to this,I'm in I pretty sure I broke something up in Mt. City, just not real sure what is is, so it will give me some time to get ready, class wise I say 6 cylider and under, and V-8 and up, tire size aint gonna make much difference unlessm threre are some big mud hole, which I hope there aint

Classes will be similar to last year, based off frame, tire size and traction aids

I'm working on getting all the info together, planning on releasing details sometime round the start to mid January

Will the 4x4cross trail,be doable in a smaller rig, like the last race was?
Something along the lines of, oh, say... this?

As a volunteer at last year's race, I can say that AW didn't have anything to do with the race at all and they didn't show very much if any appreciation for the volunteers that worked the race. So I am glad to hear that they are not involved with this year's race. I would love to volunteer again this year, but with my job taking me more frequently to the left coast, I may have to pass on this one. Will know more the closer the event gets. I will also have to say that it was awful nice to have a Ranger at each check point to back the volunteers up when the muckity mucks would try to weazle their way onto the course. Some type of enforcement with authority is definitely needed with each volunteer at each check point. I would also have to say that there are enough volunteers/workers at each check point to make the race flow better. Last year we had quite a few delays due to not having the proper numbers of volunteers/workers on the course to control the spectators.

Don't think that's going to be a huge issue since we're not at URE running Rocky Mt loop. We'll be at the stables.

But I'm sure the boys will work out the details before long.

Sorry Ricky for not following up with ya. I know we've all been busy with the holidays and a few weeks ago I went to Calla and came back without front wheel drive.
So that's the reason I didn't head out the last weekend URE was open.

Anyhow, I want to come out there some time soon and take some pics so I can post them up similar to how Doug did the TN 4x4cross race. That way everyone can see what they're in for.

aight so which date do you guys like better the weekend before may 9/10/11 or the weekend after may 23/24/25

weekend of may 23-25 is the same weekend as the CocaCola 500 race in Charlotte but also is a holiday weekend, we get that monday off, might be nice

weekend before 9-11 might create scheduling conflicts with the Mud racing circuit our track is a part of now, idk I'll have to ask Johnny

yall let me know real quick the final planning meeting is this sunday

freakin KOH

I predict a LONG week for some folks if doing KOH on 1 weekend (breaking whatever) and then fixing it to compete the next weekend!

You guys prob need TWO rigs... heh

(Def let us know when the date is finalized, I got durn campground reservations already for my camper for the original date!!)

any weekend but the one of the 10th would be good

I hope that the original dates (15,16,17) work out. Not a nascar fan, but I think the coca cola race would keep alot of people from attending.

What about an atv mud bog as a side event.
