'85 Xtra Cab Build

You take out a loan for that BMW? Maybe your parents will buy you a clue. :flipoff2:

UPDATE: rig is still a pile

Can we paint it green like a big can of peas?

Justin beat us to the punch. Wait til you see the new Mangler. Its like the Jolly Green Rockbouncer.

As for this pile...got a flat pitman arm. This should hopefully fix the tierod hitting the springs issue. Hopefully going to mess with it a bit this weekend.

Flat pitman arm raised it all a hair too much. The castle nut on the end where the drag link mounts hits the frame. Going to notch the frame and plate it in sometime soon. Just need to get the time and for the weather to cooperate a bit since its in the driveway and not in the shop right now.

hey stretch was the flat pitman arm worth it. I'm going to be ordering my X-Over soon and I think I'm going to go ahead and get the flat arm..

How's it steering compared to before?

Saw this in some random storage unit somewhere in Deep Gap

so it must be true

Bahahahhaa! I never saw that pic posted...Man that shop has some graffiti on the walls for sure. Damn Food Baby Fab has a bunch of ruffians in that shop.

Stan...dash is "finished" for now.

Got the steering finished up today, cut the front fenders a bit and added two leafs to the front spring pack. Some small touch up stuff to finish on Friday but its ready to go.

Sorry about the off topic post but holy $hit was that ski game in your avatar fawking epic. :D

Yeah man I told Nathan to post a pic of the shop pic, we should have added your number too haha.

And the SKIFREE thing always cracks me up!

Got this thing back out for a shakedown on Saturday. 2 extra leafs in the front packs, 2" wheel spacers all the way around and cut the fenders a bit. Its nice to be able to steer to full lock in both directions. Still have some things that need changing but it works ok as it is.

Interior cage, F150 springs out back and some Bilstein shocks all the way around is next.

If you are buyin tube you might as well cut the frame off in the back!

I'm going to keep it and build it some more. It goes really well for what it is. The rear suspension doesn't articulate at all due to the 80's Skycrapper lift springs which is the only thing really holding it back.
