90's throw back.....Manche build

Sounds good, but in my experience it can be difficult to stop a strap sliding down an angled tube unless its a strait pull. If it slides that might mess up your cab. I'm not trying to say your'e going to roll over, just that it's possible. Even A small loop of 3/8in or 1/2in rod on the inner side of the tube, to slide the strap through when it goes around the tube would work.
Also this thing is awesome, Can't wait to see it wheel. You've definitely given me some ideas, from this thread and your buggy build.
Thanks for the compliments, glad your enjoying it. I learned from watching others, that's why i devote much time to maintaining these threads.

Don't feel bad I rushed to get a new to me snow wheeler ready and legal, only to lay on a cold carport trying to get the front axle to engage. Couldn't even get to my shop to jacks and real tools....secondhand ownership joys.

Im going on year 5!!!
Until brighter days.... Or should I say, colder. :driver:

So, I get up this morning and go downstairs to start working and while my computer is warming up, I decide to check out nc4x4 for the first time in forever! 1.5 hours later I finally finish ready this thread and just have to say that you have some of the maddest fabbin skills eva! I really miss wheelin with you guys, well, most of you guys. Great job Matt, maybe I'll be lucky enough to run across some of you reprobates in the future.

.......what.......wait......is that a ghost I see on my screen.....hell no it's just that no talent jeep driver Brad!

Damn where you been? You have been missed on the trails friend. Come back soon.

Matt

Sheeeet! You have to be full to the brim with talent to wheel an underpowered jeep and keep up with you big horsepower jockeys.:driver:

Work, grandchild, and shooting just about every weekend has kept me pretty occupied. Reading through your build has given me an itch though.

This is pretty much all I do for fun anymore

Matt, sorry if I missed it, but what are you using to cut these small pieces out with? Looks to nice to be a Plaz.

Everything is hand cut with a plasma. From there, every edge is cleaned with a flap wheel, and entire piece is sanded to 80 grit and red scotchbrite, acetone. I fit and clean as if I were going to tig the joints, with a heavier back cut for mig.

Thanks Dave

Matt
